You'd say"Fauteuil" They were probably manufactured after the second world war, and are made of solid walnut. The upholstery is fairly new, clean and no pet or smoking odors. The seats have springs are nicely firm. The backs have a slight"crunch" to them, which makes me think they have horsehair in there somewhere. Nice old school materials. The pieces have all the curves and cabriolets of this particular style, and have bits of floral-motif hand carving on the crest, the knees of the front legs, and the center of the skirt. They are solid and sturdy- I can see one joint that looks like it may have been re-glued. There are no repaired splits. There are two odd circular pits in the back of one of the legs- very shallow, and the size of a collar button. Other than that, magnifique! Shipping is FREE in the USA. Antique vintage wardrobe steamer trunk from early 1900s. This was from my father's house in Chicago and has sentimental value but sadly we need to part with it. It is dark green with brass hardware which is tarnished. Sides are scruffed. Trunk includes key for outside lock but no key for inside drawers. Original hangers and small ironing board are still intact. Various compartments and drawers. Would make a neat display for antiques or old clothing or unique coffee table. Vintage Wardrobe Trunk Brass Metal Chest Genuine National Vulcanized Fibre WWII Slat Flat Top Note: says HR Oswald on the bottom. Could be original owner. The Genuine National Vulcanized Fibre Trunk was only in production from 1922-1965. This trunk looks by age to be from the 1940's. I did not take it to antique dealer to get the exact year it was made. For lack of time. This was bought from an antique distributor who did not know the exact date, so this is up to the buyer. Because the company went out of business this trunk would not be any older than 1965. There are 2 wardrobe drawers that are really deep about aprox 11.5" Length: 36" Width 12" from the outside. ... moreIncluded are 4 wooden hangers. One might be broken or it was just made differently than the other 3. This wardrobe case was originally used by soldiers during WWII to keep their clothes and possessions safe while traveling. MENDEL WARDROBE TRUNK EARLY 1900'S
This Early 1900 Wardrobe Mendel Trunx is in beautiful shape on the interior! It even has the hangers and key! The blue material ans all drawers are in good shape. The exterior like most of these trunks shows some wear. There are two small tears in the exterior material and the exterior lock mechanism has been twisted and bent but all parts are still strongly attached. The latches are in great working order and the trunk can still be tightly closed utilizing these. All original metal is in tact and there is not a single loose piece. It is in exquisite solid brazilian rosewood. The top has some fissures which would benefit from some re-finishing. It has doors on both sides. But they are fake, or"dummy" doors on one side. Antique Travel Trunk with Single Tray and Silk Lining - Early 1900's
Up for bidding is this Antique Travel Trunk with Single Tray. A s ilk lined interior and i t's smaller size are clues to suggest this was possibly a rumble trunk for overnight or weekend usage. A heavy duty b lack c oated canvas covers the case and serves as the hinge for the trunk. Piece is in very good condition showing some age on the leather seams. Stitching and some unglued canvas in spots. Top tray is made of a wooden frame with the striped silk fabric stretched and glued tightly over the frame. Silk is in fair condition with small rips indicating a delicate nature to the fabric. The interior is fully lined and was also glued along the hinge line. Staining is moderate and sort of expected for the age of this piece. Left lid corner is separated from broken stitching. Lock does not seem to work. Vintage- Ironmongers- Morse Drill Bits" 24 Drawer- Cabinet- This delightful 24 drawer cabinet. It is in"as found" condition and has not been repaired or restored by us. These charming set of 24 drawers would have oringinally sat on top of the ironmongers shop counter. The back has the remains of the original"Genuine Morse Drill Bits" sign and the front- store keeper side- has all the drawers which held various sized drill bits. The cabinet is in original condition. Carcass is oak and the drawers are pine in construction. It has certainly"lived a life" The cabinet was never designed to be a piece of home furniture, but was practical and to be used. Hence, there are ... moremarks, scratches, stains and scuffs to the body and top of the cabinet. The rear shows the signs of its age and the original advertising is faded and also damaged to the bottom. You may wish to replace this. But I have left it as found. Most of the drawers have their original"Ivorine" labels indicating which size bit was in each drawer. Three of the drawers have lost their knobs; easily replaced; but I personally love the look of it as it is; it is has a delightful"shabby chic" charm about it. It all still feels solid and this is a great vintage piece. Ready to carry on as a quirky storage around the home. It measures 41.5 cm(16 1/4 inches) wide and is 32 cm(12 1/2 inches) deep and is 28 cm(11 inches) high. We take great care to describe our items as clearly and honestly as possible. Antique Louis Vuitton Monogram Steamer Trunk w/ 2 Drawer Inserts, Wheels, Cover
This fine piece of luxury luggage is in very good vintage condition with wear consistent with it's age and use. It is a wood strapped. Cloth bound, steamer trunk covered in the classic and desirable LV monogram canvas exterior. The trunk's interior label. Stating it's Paris and London origins, is perfectly intact. The adjacent stamped serial or maker's#143620 is easily readable and suggests a best guess date of production to be circa early 1900's. The trunk measures approximately 43" wide, 22" deep, and 23" tall. There is also the family name of"Gemley" imprinted clearly on both ends of the trunk. The cloth interior of the trunk is very clean and in very good condition. It is free of rips. Tears, or splits, and there are no stains or odors. This same description applies to the 2 interior trays ... moreor drawer inserts. The 2 levels of storage compartment trays are fully intact including all woven straps, tie downs, and carrying handles. The trunk's exterior is in good to very good overall condition. All Louis Vuitton factory marked tacks are intact and accounted for. The two metal side carrying handles are still intact. Secure, and strong. The trunk's bottom is in great condition and the wood support bars are intact and not split or broken. The Key to the trunk's lock has been lost to history, like it's original owner's memories of long ago travel. The LV Steamer Trunk's"Character" disclosure description is as follows: The leather closure strap or the strap that went around the whole depth of the trunk is. As is very common with trunks of this era, broken off at the front clasp in both directions. There are three"broken" pieces of this strap included with the trunk) There are also a few marks on the trunk's exterior material that appear to be wear marks or scuff marks and are not to be confused as water damage, mold or mildew. They may have been replaced at one time. But was this way when I purchased it. No restoration. Brass latch is not complete. No key. Inside has extra drawer that lifts out. Wonderful antique wardrobe trunk found at an auction. The trunk has the manufacters name plate P Becker& Co. Makers Chicago. I could not find much history on this just that around 1930 they went from making trunks and suitecases to table tennis. Anyway this trunk is very heavy. It is in pretty good condition. It does need some cleaning up which was going to be my project but I need to find my garage before winter. The trunk is 43" tall and 21x24" on top. It opens sideways. And 40.5" long. There is some tarnishing of the tacks, and discoloration of the leather strip around a few tacks on the base only. We assume it was stored standing up on the base. It definitely has some slight mildew on the lower two drawers and the interior has a musty odor. From our research. It looks as though all the small parts and pieces are there. There is some slight pitting on the top metal hanging hardware. Inside three of the drawers are somebody's initials as seen in photos. This nice tool chest was obviously hand made to hold an individual's personal tools. The chest is hinged with no latch and there are nice handles at either end. The lid is held perpendicular by a chain when it is opened. The chest measures 26" L x 11.5" W x 10"T. The toolbox is divided into several different compartments inside. The main compartment measures 21 3/4" L x 7 1/8" W x 7"D. With 1.5" of headroom beneath the lid. Two wide compartments along the back measure 8 1/2" L x 2 1/4" W x 7" T and 9 3/8" L x 2 1/4" W x 7" T. A third compartment in the back is divided into two areas that measure 3" L x 3/4" W x 7" T. Very nice storage case. Measures 15 3/4" x 12 1/4" x 10 3/4" made by the The Eagle Lock Co(stamped on metal closure) caramel colored cowhide solid wood box, weighs about 10 pounds. Not sure if the storage box was custom made. cannot find another to compare to) a very nicely solid made with inside wallpaper which is in amazing pristine condition.
