Altavista, VA· list of patent numbers(as seen in the picture) Imprinted on the bottom: style# 3043· serial# 451240. This chest measures 48 inches wide by 18 inches deep by 17 inches high. When opened. You are greeted with the fresh scent of natural cedar as a shelf rises up and away for easy access to the chest below. Based on the serial number. The manufacture date was April 21, 1954. I received the chest in the early-to-mid 70s and had it professionally refinished with a walnut stain in 1979. Some of the grain is slightly raised on the front(as seen in the picture) Several pictures were taken under different lighting conditions. There are ... morea few very minor scratches. But overall it is in very good condition. IMPORTANT: As per the requirements of the Consumer Products Safety Commission. Solid wood construction with decorative patterned veneer. Original finish. The cedar scent is still very strong. The lid opens by depressing the latch on the outside. Lovely. Vintage, Late 1940's or early 1950's, Lane Cedar Hope Chest. Chest measures approximately 47-1/4" wide, 22-3/4" tall and 18-1/2" in depth. The Chest is in the Art Deco Style. There is a top self which is divided in two parts with original green felt liner. The chest has the original paperwork included. The locks were repaired with a safety lock in September, 2013. New key and instruction sheet included. The underside of the chest has style number 2231, and serial# 846230. The inside of the chest is in good condition. The outside of the chest shows signs of age and has some scratches and wear, from being relocated a few times, but is in good condition for its age. The three rear hinges open and close well. Lane Antique Vintage Art Deco Cedar Hope Blanket Chest
Original antique/vintage art deco Lane Cedar Chest. This has been in our family since 1947. It is Style# 2120. Serial# 641260. According to the Lane website, date of manufacture is coded in the serial# just reverse the numbers. So this chest was manufactured on 06/21/46. It measures approximately 48" long x 18" wide x 18" high. I have included several pictures so you can see the overall condition. There are a lot of light scratches on the lid(nothing deep) and a few more on the front and sides. There are also several small patches where the veneer has come off on the edges and one section where one of my children drew a couple of small pictures. I am not an expert on restoration. But I would think that these veneer sections could be repaired. The interior is in very good condition- no chips or scratches anywhere on the cedar ... moreplanks and the felt is intact and complete. The lid opens smoothly and closes completely. The legs are solid and are also intact. At one point. The Lane Company did issue a recall on the locks/latches of these chests so the lock will be removed. They are offering free lock replacement kits that can be acquired by calling their toll-free number. Considering this chest is close to 70 years old. And all of the moves it has gone through, it is in overall solid, good condition with a lot of use left in it. All sales are final. So please ask any questions before bidding. Appearances aside. This is still a great cedar hope chest by Lane. I believe it is from the 1940's. It measures 46" x 18" x 21"high. The pictures tell the story. But I will point out the issues. The Bad: Lock is missing. Veneer is scratched and chipped away in spots. The inside shelf is broken. One corner has separated and was badly repaired. The Good: It smells amazing. The back is pretty perfect. It's got great bones. The inside shelf has most of the working parts to get started on that repair. It will be a wonderful piece when it is restored to its former glory. It measures approximately 48" long x 18" wide x 18" high. I have included several pictures so you can see the overall condition. There are light scratches on the lid(nothing deep) and a few more on the front and sides. There are also a few small patches where the veneer has come off on the edges and one section(see 8th picture) where one of my children drew a couple of small pictures. I have read that some very old Lane cedar chests prior to 1930 may have the date of production in the serial number but not in reverse order so it is possible that this chest was built in 10-10-1928. Vintage early 30's Lane Cedar Quilt Hope Chest Clinton Iowa Tucker Furniture
This antique includes a great provenance. But please note that this is local pick-up only in Clinton, Iowa. This Lane cedar quilt chest was put only lay-away at the Tucker Furniture store in Clinton, Iowa, in 1933 by the then Opal Wells. The pictures show that there were several payments over the next year before finally redeeming the chest in time for her wedding to Larry Wiley in 1934. The original warranty card is also included as it was never actually mailed in. The chest stood at the foot of her bed for more than 50 years. There are some scratches on the top from wear over the years, but the rest of the piece is in beautiful condition. This is a special piece for the right local antique collector!

Beautifuly Renewed Vintage 1932 Lane Cedar Hope Chest, Blanket/Storage Chest
Absolutely Beautiful Renewed 1932 Lane Cedar Hope Chest. This is a really amazing chest with fantastic colors. Beautiful decor and is in great condition. It's a solid chest. Very well built and has stood the test of time exceptionally well. Overall, the chest is in outstanding shape considering its been around since before the big war. All the trim pieces are fully intact. The hinges are tight, the ornate feet are very secure, the inside is perfect and very aromatic. There are a few small pieces of veneer missing. One on the top right hand end, a very small piece on the top left side and a few slight chips across the back. I don't replace veneer but I do stain the underlying layer of veneer so the missing pieces don't stand out so much. This chest was definitely taken care of through the years and with good care it should remain ... morebeautiful for many years to come. This is truly a rare heirloom piece that would look great in any home. This chest has been renewed by numerous hours of polishing to remove the surface scratches and smooth out the deeper damage. After the polishing process. I rub it with rejuvenating oils then spray a few coats of clear to preserve the new-found beauty. What results is a chest that looks years younger. It does have a few minor chips and dings that you expect from such an old chest but they don't stand out after the renewing process. The lock has been disabled due to a Lane recall. 48" wide. 20.5" tall and 19" deep Serial# 236111. Built November 16 1932 The pics look good but I don't think they do it justice. The wood does have a few chips and scratches but I have not attempted to clean or polish it. The inside is excellent with original labeling and cedar with felt lining. Measures 47½ x 17½ x 21" tall. PLEASE NOTE: We will need to remove the lock and you will need to replace with a new one.
