trunk has 1008 on handle Here is the information on Colonel Frank M. Kennedy: Colonel Frank M. Kennedy. After serving as commander of Scott Field from 1933 to 1937, spent the majority of the rest of his career on the staff of the Chief of the Army Air Corps. His last assignment on active duty was as commander of Fairchild Field at Spokane, Washington. He retired in 1944 and passed away in March 1965. Quite interesting historical piece! army air corps, who was one of the first five men to volunteer for flight training when the army introduced it in 1911. Col. Kennedy. Went to Germany in 1922 to observe construction of the dirigible Los Angeles for the United States, and after the attack on Pearl Harbor supervised construction of air corps depots on the west coast. He retired in 1944.

Seems to be missing a case on the left side. 6 of the hangers are similar and 1 is different. There are some ribbon type fastening pieces in a few of the drawers, and 1 has maybe a hat holder(image 9) The one handle is all there, but falling apart. Has E.C. 1921 Belber steamer wardrobe trunk from Frackville/Pottsville. Pennsylvania. Hello everyone. Up for auction is a vintage 1921 Belber steamer wardrobe trunk that is in great condition for its age; lovely worn-look It was manufactured by the Belber Trunk and Bag Company Phiadelphia. Pa. It was purchased at H.R. Knapp Leather Goods in Pottsville. Pennsylvania. It has stickers that tell that it travelled on the American Railway Express Company from Schuylkill County to Philadelphia with a young woman who attended Temple University teacher’s college. Dimensions are 41.5" x 21.5" x 21" Handle intact. All hardware is intact with all the rivets except the key is lost, 5 drawers that open and close, a separated small matching case, an ironing board; Has the Original Bar which goes thru the drawers to keep them secure during travel The ... morepatent date of April 19, 1921 is on it. Drawers still open and close. Hanger Rods still extend. But there are no hangers. Top opens so you can take the clothes out in the back without having to take the ones in front out first. It has the original material with some small snags; no holes in the interior or exterior. Isabella Irene Francks was the owner and lived in Frackville. Pa. She graduated from Temple University on June 14, 1928 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. There are several Vintage handwritten letters included from her which gives the piece alot of character. This is a great piece of local history. When I sell something on Ebay I describe it how it REALLY is. No bull here, only facts on how something is and thats the way it should be. Period. Vintage Aero-Pak Belber Tweed Leather Trim Stacking Prop Luggage Suitcase Lot
This auction features a lot of two vintage stacking/nesting suitcases in earth-tone colors of beige. Golden tan, brown, and sienna. Wonderful for stacking, storage, photography props, stage set use, etc. While these are not a set(different brands) their coloring is complimentary. They appear to be canvas and each has leather trim. The leather handles seem to be securely fastened. Both have a very distressed appearance, the smaller one with more condition issues. The larger suitcase is an Aero-Pak"Deluxe Modern Luggage" with silver-tone hardware and burgundy interior lining(measures 24" X 15" X 7" and the smaller case is a Belber with gold-tone hardware and brown lining(18" X 13" X 6" Please be aware that these are very distressed with damage to both the canvas body, leather trim, and scratching to hardware. ... moreSome areas of leather are missing and areas of canvas are torn. The smaller suitcase is coming apart on left front side of lid and wooden corner is exposed(see last photo) The lids close but need to be adjusted and seated to latch and unlatch. Vintage Belber Trunk Chest Wardrobe Travel Gotta See - Really Awesome!!
The previous owner of this trunk would have been 105 this year) It is a really cool looking trunk with the 5 drawers. The old hangars, the briefcase like drawer that slides in under the clothes, and what looks to be an ironing board that has paper covering it(we did not take it out- we left it undisturbed) We do not have keys, the big lock on the front was popped but looks to be okay. There is a sticker or two that say Belber(which is how we knew that much about it) We believe this is all original and it is in pretty good shape- it does have marks and wear due to use and age but it seems to be a very solid piece and would be awesome restored. WWI Army Aircorps Soldiers Foot Locker* World War 1 Steamer Trunk Produced between 1916 and 1922 by Belber Trunks This particular trunk belonged to a young man who registered with the United States Army in 1916 His name was A.J. Dagenais(Arthur Joseph) When he came home from the war. It was to Laconia N.H. I researched this American Soldier as much as I could. It looks like he was held as a P.O.W. But was later brought home alive. I believe. According to the information that I found online, that he was buried at Arlington. I don't know if the info is 100% accurate, but I did spend the time, and If the info that I found was accurate, Mr. Dagenais was a very brave young man. I have had the trunk for a while. And really hate to part with it, however, It would be best if it went to a home where it could be more properly displayed. It is nearly ... more100 years old. And has markings of many traveled miles. It is structurally in fantastic condition. And has all of the metal trim, lock, etc. The leather straps are original and intact The black paint may be original paint. As there is some peeling. You can see where the stickers were. There are plenty of scratches. Dings, and dents, and it has that fantastic old smell. Not mildewy, but old. Like old wood and books. Its about 31" Wide. 12 3/4" High, and almost 17" Deep The story of the soldier has taught me quite a bit about the war. And I hope that the next owner will be able to gain something from it as well. All of the men who served in that war are now passed. But their stories live on.

All the drawers and original pulls, a special shoebox insert in the bottom drawer(which has the only damage to report which is detailed in our last picture) the original laundry/garment drawstring bag(almost impossible to find these days) it also has two drawer dividers in the very top drawer, the original Belber instruction manual, also included is the lock down metal mechanism for the left side of the chest, but no key. It is clearly marked Belber and the outside is in very good condition. It does have some dings and scratches that are consistent with its"worldly travels" There is a metal plaque on it that states patent dates from Feb.13, 1907- Aug. 21, 1928. The leather carrying handle is intact and not ... morebroken. The original inspector tag still hangs from one pull. Measures 41" tall when standing on its right end x 20.5" wide x 21.5" deep when closed. It is heavy and requires two people to lift it. A very nice piece of travel history. A 1920's Belber steamer trunk with original drawers and wood hangers. The size is approx 41" high by 23" x 22" There are a few nicks and minor dings. There is no key. A rare and beautiful looking trunk. You'll have a hard time finding another one in this condition. I suggest local pick up in Lutherville. MD. Antique Steamer Trunk -made by Belber - interior excellent
Huge and very nice trunk that is black in color and is marked BELBER as the manufacture. The brass colored corners and the latch is marked Corbon Cabinet lock- it is 40 long(side to side) 23 inches high and 22 inches deep(front to back) Overall very cool and has two containers for clothing- one is damaged but both parts are there. It is black paint( that is alligatoring(paint slightly bubbling) but is great and would make a really nice coffee table for your living room! The bottom is not rotting and in fact is in excellent shape(photo shown of the bottom with two wood runners)

Dimensions are 31" L) x 17" W) x 13" H) Former owner's name has been stamped on the trunk lid and on the back of the trunk. The leather handle on one side is cracked and broken. On the other side it is missing. There is no key. There is one piece of metal hardware missing above the lock. There is a removable wood insert that rests in top of trunk. Exterior shows surface marks, scuffs, aged patina from use. Metal hardware has paint wear and some areas of surface rust where paint is worn off. Bottom underside of trunk has several areas where outer surface material is cracked, see pics for condition. The Belber Trunk and Bag Company acquired the Oshkosh Trunk Company and became the world's biggest manufacturer of traveling goods. In 1920. The company purchased the on Arch Street in and established there its main office. A factory and a salesroom. In addition, Belber built a national network of production, distribution, and direct sales which by 1926 included manufacturing plants at Woodbury and Newark, New Jersey, and Oshkosh, Winconsin, as well as branch warehouses and offices in Pittsburgh, New York, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

Belber Steamer Trunk. Patent first in December 1911, this trunk is not perfect, so look at the pictures well. The outside is in very good condition, but the drawers need some repair. Antique vintage Belber steamer wardrobe trunk chest luggage suitcase 1920s black
A vintage Belber wardrobe trunk. It measures approximately 39.5" tall. 23" wide, and 22" deep. Much of the interior is still intact. The last patent date on the tag is in 1921. The condition is very good overall. There is overall surface wear commensurate with age and use, including some dings and scratches as they are found commonly on antique luggage. A bit of fading to the portion of the blue interior which is exposed. The structural integrity is good and there are no major problems. We do not have the key. This item is a must see 1920s Belber Wardrobe Trunk. Measures approx. 42 1/2 H x 22 1/2 x 21 1/2 inches. fully opened flat is approx. 44 inches long. Amazing and rare, complete with most original items in the truck when sold. Manual of How to Pack Your Belber Wardrobe Trunk, wooden hangers, Belber silk cords to attach to them, Ironing board, removable shoe box, hat form, and laundry bag. It is in wonderful vintage condition, including some dings and scratches as they are found commonly on antique luggage and trunks great aged look. Inside cloth material does have condition issues due to its age. Fading and discoloration to the portion of the blue interior. The structural integrity is great and there are no problems.
