It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! Note: Not shipping overseas nor to Alaska on this one. Only to domestic United States. I am unsure of the the exact origin on these interesting early handles but I believe the came from an old steamer trunk or chest. Handles are approx. 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" in size. Mounting plates are approx. 5 1/2" x 2 1/2" in size. They are made of pressed steel with ornate pearl strand pattern design. Handles are in good solid condition and operate well. They do have some rust. Pitting, and plating loss(see pics) Comes exactly as pictured. Would make a nice addition to any antique restoration project. If you have any questions please email me. There are 5 wooden steamer trunk slats in good condition with brass tacks and end pieces still intact plus 2 other slats that were broken and glued back together for a total of 7 slats. The 5 that are shown in the pictures range in size from 21 to 22 inches long before they curve down.

More treasures from Grandpa's garage. He use to restore trunks in the 1980s. Found was this box of misc parts from various trunks from the late 1890s thru the 1930s. Nothing is reproduction. And all have a beautiful aged patina(yeah, that includes rust! What is pictured is exactly what you will receive. VTG Antique Old FANCY Cast Metal Chest Steamer Trunk Lock Latch Hardware Parts
This is a really neat heavy cast metal lock/latch which I believe came off a very old steamer trunk of sorts. It's in good used vintage condition with some surface wear and tarnish and I believe a tiny crack by the bottom bolt that you can't see from the front and doesn't seem to affect its use whatsoever.please view pictures for any further description/condition. Refinished antique steamer trunk circa late 1890’s. Early 1900’s with original hardware. This has a wonderful flat top surface, perfect use for a table or at the bottom of a bed. Plus it is nice and roomy, excellent for extra storage. The inside has been stripped of the original paper. Brass colored hardware and front lock, no key. The wood has been finished in a nice warm medium pine color with a not to shiny, not to dull, just right finish. The metal hardware has not been repainted, only cleaned. I like to leave the hardware in its found state. Rear hinges are in working order and original inside hardware holds lid up perfectly. There is a wood split on the top side, normal for antiques trunks as they werew packed and then stacked for traveling. The bottom shows some wear. It is made of thick rich genuine leather with a gorgeous patina in hues ranging from brown to cognac to tan. It has two wooden skids on the back for protection. And it comes with a removable tan canvas cover and a pair of long leather straps that wrap all the way around the bag. The straps are damaged, and one of them is torn so it no longer fits all the way around the case. I would recommend replacing the straps. There is a lovely dark blue fabric interior lining. And t here are two functional brass hardware latches on this trunk. The central latch was removed from the case at some point.
