Identification This antique L. and J.G. Stickley chair retains its original"THE WORK OF L. J.G. STICKLEY" paper label beneath one arm. As shown. It is circa early 20th century. Condition The chair looks good overall. It has its original leather seat. Which has wear and some staining. The finish appears to be original. The oak has minor nicks, scuffs, and dings, all of which are normal wear for an antique chair. The seat is 6 ¼” deep and the overall depth is 8 ½” The feet and arms are beautifully carved wood. Possibly mahogany. The seat. Back and arms are upholstered in a fine green silk fabric, which has been painted with green, cream and red stripes to demonstrate, in scale, the actual full size fabric pattern. This chair, along with a matching Chippendale camel-back sofa and another upholstered easy chair and Pembroke drop leaf table were purchased as a set at an antique show in Santa Monica in 1987. At that time they were said t be 64 years old. Putting them at circa 1923, though they may well be older. The dealer had purchased them in Rockport, Illinois as salesman samples. The construction and upholstery all indicates that they were in fact made as salesman samples and not as an apprentice piece or doll furniture. The mahogany is beautifully carved and finished and in good condition. The joints are tight with no wobbly bits or cracks. There is an old. Stable repair to the stretcher bar on the bottom of the chair. The painted silk is fragile and in rough. Shabby chic condition consistent with age. There is loss of paint. Splits in the fabric and some staining. Please study the photos with the zoom feature to see these issues. No attempt to repair or restore this piece has been made and it is in original condition. This piece is incredibly charming despite the vintage condition and displays beautifully. It is extremely rare to find miniature upholstered pieces of this age. As most have not survived the years. This elegant sample. With suberb attention to detail, is a lovely testament to the history of the traveling furniture salesman. NOTE This auction is for the upholstered armchair only. Here is a set of 4 already matching that have the traditional"Rabbit Ear" design with a top stretcher. Six turned spindles create the back and fit into the second rail that is also pressed. The spindles are flat on the side that faces your back so that its nice and comfy. Seats were recanned 7 years ago but have been used since then and have wear where they need to be recanned. All have the bent wood Hip Huggers to strengthen that back joint. It's a superior design for longevity. These are antique chairs and have been used and have signs of wear and character. You will only have to recane them.

Antique Wardrobe Style Travel Trunk w/ Customs Sticker Possibly Hartmann?
This is a very clean trunk. The inner cover has a rip in it and I don't have the key. But the case is sturdy and the interior clean. The handles show some wear too. No odors or stains. There is a customs sticker from the US on the outside, but I couldn't read a date. This looks exactly like the Hartmann, but has no tag. The only name I found was the Eagle Lock Co and the latches. Antique Pendleton Suitcase
This is a suitcase that was used by my Uncle who went to Oregon to be part of the CCC service during the depression. I'm not sure if the suitcase had the three Pendleton Redeo stickers attached to the suitcase or if it was purchased at the rodeo. Inside the case there was also an album from the rodeo with approximately 50 pictures. This is not included. Your only bidding on the case. My best guess is approximately 1940- 44. He eventually ended up in the Navy during WWll. The case size is approximately 23 inches by 13 inches by 6 inches. The color is brown. The case is made out of metal. Vintage Moderoma "Modern Hope Chest" with Tray
This is a beautiful chest dubbed the"Modern Hope Chest" for its day by the Franklin Shockey Company in North Carolina. I believe it was made in the 50's. As you can see from the photo the wood is beautifully done. I have seen one other but it did not have the shelf. They are designed to be waterproof and have a small compartment in the middle of the shelf for mothballs or other moth deterants. The interior is pristine and looks like it was never or barely used. The exterior is in great condition for its age with just a few nicks and one small piece of the stripe veneer missing. The trunk is 3' 5" long and 1' 4" wide. It stands 20" tall and 17" deep. You're looking at a really cool antique steamer trunk from the early 1900s by Innovation. This really reminds me of the scene from the Harry Potter movies where Professor Lupin has been fired and is magically packing up his trunk to leave Hogwarts! There are 5 drawers on the left side. The top one is divided into 3 separate compartments. All have intact leather pulls. The right side features a set of wooden hangers that swing out for easy access to all your clothes plus two more small shelves for hanging trousers or locking larger items into the lower portion of the trunk. The outside is nearly indestructible. Being covered in metal. It looks like someone spilled some white paint on it at some point. The hinges are intact, and the main latches are functional, although the secondary ones are damaged. The top of the chest has a beautiful carved pink marble top which is in excellent condition however there is a slight ring that can only be seen in the right light. The chest measures 31" high by 34" wide. The chest has a makers label J.B. Sciver Co since 1880. This piece would make a lovely addition to any home. THIS ITEM IS FOR PICK UP ONLY. Vintage WWII Japanese Footlocker/Trunk. Made of wood(not sure what kind) Is a little"rough around the edges" but sturdy. Several nails have been hammered inside the lid(see pics) One latch is missing(see pics) Dovetail like construction(but NOT dovetail) Name engraved is Hachiro Kita. There is some writing on the front of the box in(I think) indelible marker. I'm not certain what the inscription means(if anything) My guess is that this was used during the period when the U.S. created'camps' for the Japanese that lived in the States during the war. Did some brief internet research on Hachiro Kita and it looks as though he may have lived in Colorado during that time. None of this information is confirmed. However. If you have any insight. Vintage wardrobe steamer trunk in good condition. Early 1900'S. Made by BAL-FIBRE-FIFTY. Known as a quality trunk maker of that era. It is dark green with brass hardware and leather handles. Measurements are: Approximately 22" wide X 22 3/4"deep X 44" tall. Has 5 drawers on one side with the original handles. Opposite side has original hangers in good condition. Also. There is a snap out case. Background of inside has floral print. The trunk has the"Bal Fibre-Fifty" emblem. It also has the letters"G B N" stenciled on the side. The trunk was"locked" when we acquired it and we did not receive a key with it. Therefore. We took the pin off in order to open the trunk.
