The trunk is made of wood, with a nice brown covering that is mainly intact, although it is torn in quite a few places, and metal reinforced seams. The trunk also has two latches, one on each side of the main lock, that are a unique design and work well, although they are covered with a fair amount of surface rust. Hand screened swim trunk with brilliant black and red angelfish on yellow or white ground. These are Truly a fantastic vintage find. They are cream in color, with an elastic waist. The waist measures at 30" without being stretched. The condition is fabulous considering they are 64years old. I could only find two tiny un-noticeable holes. Please see pics above. These shorts are in overall excellent used condition except that there is a hole in the lining fabric and a small run in the lining fabric. See Pics) These short seem to be made of 100% cotton or a cotton/blend. They measure 32 inches at the waist unstretched. Fully stretched the waist is 42 inches, the inseam is 3 inches and the outseam measures 14 1/2 inches. They have an inner drawstring at the waistband. Don't pass up this fabulous find! 1960s-1970s Retro Vintage Mens Cabana Swim Set Trunks & Shirt Peacock Print
5 button aloha style shirt with pattern-matched single breast pocket. Labeled washable, size L 16-16½” It measures 29” from the bottom seam of the collar to the hem and has a yoke back. The trunks are labeled all nylon jersey supporter size 38. 6” metal front zipper and double button closure. There is a button tab coin/key pocket at the waistband. Also, two buttons either side to adjust waist. At the looser setting, the waistband measures 18½” across. There is no manufacturers label– it has NOT been clipped out. This set is in excellent vintage condition. No problems. I’ve marked it polyester. But not totally sure. I just know it is a light weight synthetic, not a natural fabric or blend. This is a vintage pair of men's sportswear by Gary Reed. I have NO idea what sport. But I'm guessing it's a swim suit. It has a cool criss-cross weaving on the sides. I think the material is nylon, but I'm not sure. It is somewhat stretchy. There is some light staining on the beige cloth insert and some light dirt marks on the outside. Here we have a cabana set. Two pieces of the same matching material fresh from a cedar chest at an estate sale. The ladies husband was in the Navy and stationed at Pearl Harbor after WW2. This pair is 100% cotton with an internal undie whose elastic around the legs has loosened from age. The shorts themselves have a drawstring and an awesome groovy pattern featuring hawaiian themed red and blue flowers. There is a side pocket with the ocean pacific tags. Size tagged is XL. See actual measurements since actual sizes vary for different designers. Waist 19" doubled is 38" and it can be drawn up to be made smaller with the internal drawstring Rise 11" Inseam 3 1/2" I'm actually not sure if these are from the 1960's or the 1970's.
