Vintage 1975 Lane Hope/Blanket Cedar Chest Declaration of Independence? New Lock
For sale is a Vintage 1975 Lane Hope/Blanket Cedar Chest with New Lock! I believe it shows the Declaration of Independence but I am not exactly sure and the company could not tell me since they have lost their vintage records in a flood. It is style# 2389-22 and the serial# is 2575190. The chest shows normal wear like scratches and scuffs. It measures 40x17x17" and has two leather straps on each side(forgot the pic of that) and one has ripped and needs to be fixed. This seems to be an unique chest since I have not been able to find one like it. There was a recall on the lock and it has been replaced by a lock sent from Lane Co. This is an absolutely beautiful Lane Cedar hope chest. May I first note that the original lock has been removed so that chest can open freely. The top of the chest does show wear. Most of it is from small abrasions and water marks. The back also has a scrape. Please see the photos and if you would like I can provide additional photos as well. I am not sure if the scuffs and marks on top can be taken off with lemon oil or if it will need to be refinished. I am leaving as is. The inside of the chest is absolutely mint and still retains the robust cedar smell. The original ads and decal are still intact. The serial dates it to the early 1930's from what I can tell. This is a beautiful mid century maple two door cedar cabinet by Lane dated November. 1955. PLEASE NOTE: the pictures were taken in bright sunlight and came out a bit too light and orange in color.the cedar cabinet has a warm maple tone and is slightly darker than shown. The cabinet features shutter and paneled style doors with brass pulls that open to a solid cedar interior. The interior has two quality sliding beveled drawers with side handles. I have seen these sliding drawers on previous listings but they were just flat(no sides) and did not have the design and quality that these do. This would be great for sweaters. Blankets, etc. This heavy cabinet measures 34" by 17" and stands 31 1/2" tall and is in excellent condition for its age with minimal wear. Lane Mid Century "TUXEDO" Cedar Chest
Lane Mid Century"TUXEDO" Cedar Chest Rare Lane Tuxedo cedar chest. This has the original finish& all original bow tie knobs. This piece came from a non-smoking home& has a great cedar smell when the lid is opened. There is no key for the lock. The chest is solid. There is a small piece of veneer missing from the back of the lid on the left side(photo 12) some discoloration on the same side rear leg(13) discoloration + loose veneer on the back left above that leg(14& 15) The felt in the bottom drawer has a couple of bare areas- can not tell what caused this. Light scuffing on the finish, but in pretty nice condition for being over 50 years old. This may be picked up in person at our office or it can be picked up by a freight carrier of your choice. Vintage Lane Alta Vista redwood cedar chest
The inside is immaculate-in brand new condition and still smells like new. It has an air-tight seal and has been pressure tested for aroma tightness. The outside has some scratches and wear and tear. But nothing that can't be easily fixed. It has been preserved in a basement, covered in blankets, for decades. It does not need a key, as it is unlocked and the button can be pushed to open.

Vintage Lane Miniature Cedar Chest. This one is marked Presented By- ROGERS- FURNITURE STORE- This was a furniture store founded in Provo Utah in 1921 and went out of business in 1963 due to a fire. This particular chest shows minor to bigger scuffs in certain areas on top is has small scuffs/scratches. In the bottom is has marker printing. Please see Picture It states someone's name" Pauline H.Dysart 1929(Larson) And under that is says Auc. School. Can't make the other words. Very old box in great condition sturdy wise. Everything is still intact. These were given out with keys. To able to lock this small chest, Key not included! Another writing indication inside the box stating a certain month and year. Lane Cedar Chest Item in pictures is actual item being sold in current condition. This is for a Lane brand Cedar Hope Chest. This is a beautiful genuine antique Lane brand cedar lined hope chest which belonged to my grandmother. She was given this as a 9th grade graduation gift in 1952 from her mom and dad. I do not know the actual date of manufacturing only the year she was given it. According to the product information given below and the serial number. The date of manufacturing is 08/02/50. The color is a beautiful medium brown and made out of solid cedar wood and veneer on the outside and brown stain finish. This chest is very secure and sturdy.
