Offered for your consideration is a pair of antique Saniglas safety glasses. USA-made by King Optical c.1912. The Saniglas glasses were patented in 1908 by Julius King. In cooperation with American Optical. In response to the increasing number of industrial eye injuries that the newly mechanized workplace was experiencing. And, with the growth of motorcycle and automobile sales in this era, Saniglas quickly found a second market—drivers and riders! The glasses feature thick. Shatter-resistant lenses with stainless steel mesh side guards and set the standard for safety glass design that is basically still followed today with modern polymers. So, please see the large photos, period ad excerpt, and read the remaining description to decide if these terrific survivors are suitable for your needs. These Saniglas safety glasses are in clean. Very ... moregood condition. The optical-quality glass lenses are in nice shape with just some tiny scuffs at the very bottom of one which aren't picked up by the eye when they're on—the view through them is perfectly bright and clear. Plus, the stainless steel frame has just a touch of oxidation in a few small spots and the temples are protected by a coating made from an early form of plastic. And, the steel mesh side guards are in good shape as well, but one does have a few shallow dings and edge waves. Overall, they were built to last by American craftsmen and last they certainly have! Dimensionally. The round lens openings measure 45mm, the frame to nose“bridge” between the lenses is approx. 27mm, and the temples to earpiece ends are roughly 125mm. Plus, the side guards fold inward while the temples fold outward, across the lenses, for storage. And, the original 100+ year-old American Optical case for the Saniglas is included—it’s complete with a good hinge but pretty rusty! So. FRENCH INDUSTRIAL BRONZE CLOCK NOVELTY WATER DRILL WINDMILL PUMP NOVELTY
Rare French Industrial Clock circa 1880. I believe this clock represents a Water Drill Windmill Pump. If anyone knows more about this representation let me know. French 8 day time only movement alongside a secondary French movement to run the Pump/Drill. You can see the large wrench and pipes attached to the top of the base. These were used to attach more extensions to drill deeper into the ground. Clock is as found and both movements are very dirty and require cleaning as well as the case. 19.5 inches tall and 7 inches wide. There are a few tiny screws missing from the tower. Small chips to the Slate base. Slate base could use a mineral wash to brighten it up as well. This is a rare clock that would look fantastic once cleaned and running.
