It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. This doll chest is in good condition. It has definate aged appearance and patina. There are two areas on the inside where the wood is split to the outside(one on the top and one on the inside backing) scratches and faded areas of original black decorative decor. The bottom has a couple nails sticking out. There is rusting on the decorative brass fixtures. There is some fraying of the wood in various areas and some holes that do not protrude to the outside of the box. There are handles on either side of the box. It appears that the tray and handles were added and are not original to the chest. Very nice and decorative detail and appeal. Inside original interior paper is mostly gone. Measures 18" wide x 10 1/2" high x 7 1/2" deep on the inside with removal of the wooden tray. There is no lock for this trunk. Two beautiful handles on either side.
