My parents bought this case for me in the late 1940s/ early 1950s and I used it going back and forth to college. Hard shell is covered with fabric(vinyl? in a green linen weave design. Very sturdy plastic trim around the edges. 2 tiny nicks in the covering at the back. The handle is still attached but not in very good shape. A metal label says“American Tourister. Nice antique cowhide leather suitcase measuring 26" X 13" X 7.5" This piece is in pretty decent shape for its age with a great patina on the leather. Perfect designer piece. Or use it yourself as it is still completely functional. Leather is imprinted with some numbers and"Authentic Cowhide Guaranteed" pictured) All of the brass latches work great. And you can snap the lock in the middle shut and open it without a key(no key is included) Handle is in nice shape as well as the hinges for opening and closing. One of the leather straps has broken off and is in the suitcase, if you want to try and restore it. The other strap is still intact, but is dry and brittle. The key also included included! The monogram is is good condition for a vintage trunk except from the wear that is pictured. Does show some marks from use as you can see in the photos. The brass shows some signs of wear such as tarnish. Rubbing and a few dents. The interior is in nice shape. The lid stays up by itself. The interior tray is very rare to have intact with the divider. Exquisite. Unique, rare and a magnificent antique thick leather suitcase inside and out. The 9" handle is thick, one of a kind, and in immaculate condition. The brass lock and closures are in beautiful condition and marked"Eagle Rock" look at pictures) After searching many hours on the craftsmanship of antique suitcases and pictures of antique suitcases I can say this suitcase is over 100 years old. With age it is a rich lush patina, the varied deep colors and all it's wonderful marks. The one side of the suitcase has those black marks which is not at all indented in the leather, they are just marks but I did not try to remove them as all the marks give you a story of what that sweet suitcase endured. There is also a paper sticker"Vancouver" which again I love. I can't find the words to describe how wonderful ... morethe craftsmanship is on this antique suitcase. The corners is so thick and piece of art. The inside has a softer leather and I think it is"eel" leather. The suitcase smells like wonderful leather. Inside on the cover it has two parts"eel" leather on the outside and a canvas type fabric on the other. All is clean and in great condition. Antique "Berkshire" Travel case (small suitcase)
This old suitcase was given to my wife 12 years ago by an 85 year old woman friend of hers. It is in"pretty decent" condition(no rips or tares) but looks old. It has the two perfume bottles. Mirror, hairbrush and comb, all in excellent condition. Approximate dimensions are 12" deep, 18" wide and 6" tall. There's also an old potpourri sack. The inside is in very good condition for the age. Very good shape overall for its age. Also has two working keys for the lock, and the leather handle is in good shape. ANTIQUE ORIGINAL BLACK LEATHER 17.5" ROUND SUITCASE, DARTMOUTH & LASELL, 1900-40
This 17.5" antique leather round suitcase was used by its original owner at LaSell College in 1926-1927. A LaSell label can be seen on the top as well as one for Dartmouth College where her father and brother attended. Other than some stitching that has come loose on the bottom. The suitcase is in good condition. The leather handle. Front latch, two side clasps, and back hinges are all secure and working. The beautiful blue print lining is not torn but is stretched and shows some staining from age and use. On the front the original owner’s initials M.N. are printed in gold and a tiny fragment of paper shows her address in Winchester. MA. This antique suitcase not only has weathered well. But it has held on to its history.

Antique French Victorian era Ladies Leather over Wood Portmanteau - Suitcase
This is a beautifully preserved French Leather over Wood Ladies Portmanteau or Suitcase. This is a Victorian piece that I would date at the late 1800s. The piece measures 22 1/2 inches in length- 8 1/4 inches in width- and stands 11 1/2 inches tall. The piece is very light at around 4 pounds. The interior of the piece is covered in a Black and Gray linen type material. The interior consists of 2 equal sides- with a stiff divider in between. The divider has leather straps which connect to buckles- and a black envelope for storage. The interior is in good. Clean condition commensurate with age. There is very slight fraying of the linen interior. The exterior is extraordinary- Beautiful stenciled leather in a rich Amber color with Black stenciling. There is an intact Brass Lock- but I do not have the Key. The straps across the top are connected ... moreto the back of the case with rivets- the straps are in good condition but the ends- where they meet the buckles- are fragile. I stabilized one of the strap-ends with strapping tape on the underside to insure that it does not deteriorate further. Antique Vintage Leather Hatbox Round Suitcase Luggage 17" diameter 9" deep LOOK!
This is a nice old leather hatbox/ round suitcase. It measures approximately 17" in diameter. And is approx. 9" deep. As you can see in the photos, it is black with brown trim, and has a yellowish tan fabric lining. This piece has been around. It does show wear, as the leather has some scuffs and scrapes, and the fabric lining is worn and a bit tattered. The leather on one side of the handle is broken, but the original wire within it keeps it secure. There appears to be a name written on the fabric lining(I think it says Irma_ All of the snaps and closures are functional, however I do not have the key. Please see the photos.Thank you for looking.

This is a beautiful early 1900’s antique round black Leather/Vinyl Suitcase Hat Box Train Case. This piece has been around. It does show some wear. The surface has some scuffs and scrapes and on one side it looks a sticker has been removed. The body and handle are very solid. The hardware is all original including the Excelsior lock which still works and has the key. One pin has been replaced on the upper part of the lock. The repair shows on the inside of the lid. The liner is in good condition with some stains. The elastic in the upper pouch is still very tight. I really don't know how old this great find is. But it is OLD and in great condition for it. Beautiful& rustic with a great interior. The only flaw is the straps are getting very fragile where they buckle and there is a bit of cotton material coming out of the handle ends, but the handle is well attached by hardware. This very rare antique c omposition Wetums doll. 16 inches is made by Reliable Canada c 1930s. She came in a suitcase lined with vintage dark pink blanket and pollow. She has nice. Big, sleepy eyes in very rare shade of pale blue. I haven't seen this shade of color in a doll and I've sold a lot of dolls. She has red painted open mouth for a bottle. I t is Wetsum- drink and wet doll. She drinks and wet itself. The feature is still working She has real upper eye lashes. That are still in good shape and painted eyebrows and lower eyelashes. She has molded hair. She wears pink dress and underdress. Nice pink bonnet, sock and paper shoes. I think the her clothes are original or at least very old. By 9 1/2 inches(250mm) wide, by 9 inches(230mm) tall, and is made from painted tinplate thoughout. At only 18 inches long it is a minature version of the more usual large tin chests of the period. The lid opens and closes as it should. And the catch works ok(there is no key) As can be seen from the photographs it is in pretty good condition. With some light wear but no damage or repairs. This must have been a wonderful suitcase in its day- outside still in good condition. But once you open it you go yuk. Nevertheless, if you are a Pinterest type of gal or fella, you know you can recover these and they look fabulous once again. Sorry, I'm not a Pinterest type of gal, no time for such projects.
