Antique English Leather Suitcase
This suitcase was owned by a gentleman called P.T Basham. He attended the prestigious Eton College in England and became a well known writer. I know these things because I purchased it. And some of his original writings From his great grandson when I lived in England. This suitcase actually traveled to America and back quite a few times at the turn of the century. And I brought it with me when I moved over here. Sadly I just don't have the house to showcase these things anymore. So I reluctantly have to sell it. It's in fair shape. Patina is very nice. And I like that it looks a little rough anyway, it adds to the charm. You really will not be disappointed with it. And sorry I have no paperwork or anything to confirm the story. If you love old suitcases then this is the one for you. A Nan Hing Chinese Leather Suitcase Circa 1912-1915. It still has the old label inside which is quite surprising really as it has spent the last 12 years in an outside barn on a Cornish farm. I have cleaned it up as best I can but it of course could perhaps do with some expert restoration. Here is an awesome old suitcase. It is an attractive Tweed& Leather Styling with a Bakelite Handle in the Tan/ Braown tones. The Suitcase does exhibit some amount of scratches and scuffs to the body and there are no keys to it. It opens ands closes nicely. All the hardware is perfectly in tact. This suitcase is the large 25" x 15" x 9" case that will makes it a terrific choice for display and really terrific as the base of a stacking set. I use suitcases and pic-nic baskets in my home and have each one filled.One with tablecloths. One with tableware items such as napkin rings, cocktail forks, salad& ice tongs as well as some table decorations for centerpieces and another case has assorted cloth napkins. While this table looks good and works ok. It is not perfect. You may not have the thannksgiving Dinner on it, it is for light use and was designed for that, not super sturdy. It does have locks to hold it in position, and keep it there. It was rotten, and falling apart when my Girl got it and worked her tail off to get it this far. I am listing it because it is very unique. I think for going to the beach and have a small Picnic it would be great. Fitch did not have one like this. Unknown maker. Here is a real antique. Stagecoach, train luggage trunk. It is leather over wood and it's embellished with brass tacks and a monogram. Has the bottom part of the original lock. Has both handles. The inside is covered with blue and white striped ticking or cloth. That's in very good shape. It has a drop open door in the lid that was used to put either dirty clothes or unmentionables(as they called underwear in those days) Then the top was padded and you could sit on the trunk as a seat as you were waiting for the train or stagecoach. You are bidding on an antique/vintage PRESSED GLASS CANDY CONTAINER in the shape of a SUITCASE. I do not know the exact age of this piece. But I would guess it to be mid-century. This suitcase candy container measures approximately 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" The side is stamped"PAT APPL'D FOR" The bottom of this candy container slides so that you could access the candy inside. The sliding plate is in excellent condition and shows very little wear. This is a very nice antique Asian suitcase with tin trim and leather corners and accents. The inside is lines with a flower print material and also has some Asian writing or symbols on the inside. The case is 21in long by 15 tall and 5-1/2in deep. The handle is wrapped in leather and also has leather straps. The suitcase is two pieces and one nests over the other.

From a little research I've found that this brand is from the early 1930s. The case is in great shape for its age.
