Just doesn't match my decor anymore. There are knicks and scratches typical of something this age. There is an area where my dog chewed on it a few times when she was a puppy. Restaining this would hide most of the blemishes. The top is in very nice condition without any deep scratches. Most of the knicks are at the bottom of the legs. Near the feet. It is fairly sturdy. But does wobble just a tiny bit. It is plenty sturdy for a plant or as an occasional table for keys. Candle, etc. Because of it's tall and narrow size. I wouldn't put a tall lamp or TV on top of it, but it should work for most any other purpose as it is. THIS ITEM IS-COPPER AND STEEL REBAR WELDED TREE SCULPTURE This sculpture was made by H.K Pang I believe in the mid sixties. The tree is aprox 9 1/2 inches tall and sits atop a 1/2" hard wood base. Probably chestnut, for a total height of aprox 10 inch. The tree is well proportioned and great care was taken with the roots on the trunk and the forks of the branches. There are several places where the fretwork is split and chipped. There is a section of fretwork missing on the front lower right edge of the door frame. The piece is in fair condition but appears to be very old and original. There is a small brass latch to hold the door closed and here is a shelf on the interior. The piece is solid. I do not know the exact date it was made or who the maker is. This shelf is antique and will not be perfect. The piece measures 27 ¾ inches tall. 10 ¼ inches wide and 7 ¼ inches front to back. The face of the clock is marked Meiji and MADE BY MEJI CLOCK COMPANY NAGOYA. JAPAN. The dial looks like someone was a bit over zealous with cleaner when cleaning the dial. The clock movement is marked in its top left corner with its logo. It has its logo of an M and overlapping C enclosed in a diamond with small arcs in the corners. See Meiji logo– The clock is approximately 18 ¼ inches tall. 9 inches wide at the top and 3 ¾ inches deep. The clock comes with a key but I don’t know if it is original. The case has it’s boo boo’s all in all it is in pretty good condition for age and use. Remember this is a used old clock not a new one out of a box brand new. The lower glass has a star of snow flake design. See the photos. Selling clock as is… The Meiji Clock Company was among the last to manufacture mechanical clocks in Japan.
