Up for auction we have a nice vintage serving spoon. From 1847 Rogers. It is in great shape, the only odd thing is at the bottom of the spoon on the left side it almost looks like a small portion is folded over, don't know if it happened during manufacturing. One certainly can't bend it that way. It doesn't take away from the beauty of this piece, I just can't explain who it might have happened. ROGERS 1847 SERVING SPOON - XS TRIPLE - ORNATE VINE & GRAPE PATTERN - UNIQUE
This is an extremely ornate serving spoon. The details are clever and beautifully crafted. There are a few clusters of grapes on the handle with some grape leaves and vine work. The base of the spoon that meets the handle is made up of'3-D' flowing grape vines. The backside of the spoon is almost as intricate. It is stamped 1847 Rogers Bros. XS Triple. The spoon is approx. 9" long and weighs approx. 3.5 oz. This piece looks to be perfect for serving potatoes. Squash, and things of that nature. This piece is going to give the centerpiece on the table a little competition! It really is gorgeous. No returns accepted. But there is the Ebay Buyer Protection Plan.

1847 ROGERS BROS GRAPE PATTERN XS TRIPLE CARVING SET-LADLE-CAKE SERVER NO MONO
Hi folks, this auction is for some serving utensils by 1847 Rogers Bros XS Triple in the grape pattern. None of these items have been monogramed. I am not an antique person. I am just cleaning out some of my grandmothers things and thought someone might want them. The cake server is 8 1/2" long and is in very nice condition. Some very light scratching. I don't think these items were used very much. And get the feeling that the scratches were caused by all the silverware bumping against each other. The ladle is small. 5 1/2" long and once again very light scratching. You may be able to see it in the picture. the knife of the carving set has some surface rust on it where the plate has come off. I am surprised though it has kept a very sharp edge! The tine section of the fork is a shiny black. In this pattern, popularly called Vintage Grape, there are over 100 different pieces, both place and serving. The sales for Vintage exceeded that of any pattern until First Love appeared in 1937. Vintage is an Art Nouveau design of grapes, tendrils, vines and leaves in a well balanced handle that fits the hand beautifully. Vintage remains the leading seller in antique silverplate today, with many folks filling out an inherited set. The fruit spoon comes ... moreto us with many names. Originally it was called the orange spoon, and there was a whole technique for eating an orange. You cut a circle near the top of the orange, hold it in your hand, and scoop out the pulp with the orange spoon. When grapefruits were invented in the 1920s, the this spoon became the grapefruit spoon. A variation has serrated edges to make cutting into the grapefruit work better. Old catalogs call them just the fruit spoon, designed for scooping out the fruit and leaving the husk/rind/peel. Today, the fruit spoon works excellently with baked whole fruit, compotes, or melons. An excellent dessert, and an easy one to make, is half a cantaloupe with seed scooped out, and the hollow filled with raspberry sherbet. The 4 fruit or orange spoons offered here measure about 5 3/4" These are not pieces of new silver. They show the patina of as much as 105 years of careful use. There are the light scratches which constitute normal patina. There is no monogram. Silver is softly lustrous. 1904 VINTAGE GRAPE pattern soup spoon 1847 Rogers xs triple excellent
Soup spoon with oval bowl in the 1904 VINTAGE also called GRAPE pattern marked: 1847 Rogers Bros XS Triple" Piece measures about 7&1/8 inches long. I have a number of these. 3 are marked A1 not XS triple, 5 are marked XS triple. Let me know if you are interested in one or the other markings. Spoon is in excellent con dition. The raised pattern on the handle is crisp and clear showing very little wear. The edge of the bowl has a small amount of wear. Each has a very faint amount of heel wear which will polish away. There are the usual slight nicks and scratches from stacking and storage with other silverware it is otherwise excellent. Spoon will need to be thoroughly polished when buyer receives it. Take a go od look at the photos as piece is being sold as-is. Don't bother bidding or buying if you have chosen to keep your feedback ... moreprivate. Your transaction will be canceled. Up for auction is this beautiful and somewhat hard to find fork known as the pickle fork or olive fork. It is decorated in the“Vintage” grape pattern from Rogers Brothers. Vintage was introduced in 1904 and was an instant success. It measures 7-1/2" long. On the back of the handle it is marked“1847 Rogers Bros XS Triple. This decorative spoon does have scratches from use and wear and a few tiny scratches in the bowl are a bit deeper so they show as black specks in the pictures as I wasn't able to get the tarnish out. Dinner Fork in the 1904 VINTAGE/ GRAPE pattern marked: 1847 Rogers Bros XS Triple" There is a little circle trademark symbol after the word Bros. Fork measures approx. 7 inches long. I have 2 others in excellent condition that measure approx. 7&1/2 inches long. Piece is in excellent. Near new condition. The raised pattern is crisp and clear showing very little wear. There are some slight scratches from stacking and storage with other silverware it is otherwise excellent. Piece will need to be thoroughly polished when buyer receives it.
