INTERNATIONAL SILVER COMPANY) and it dates back to 1938. There are no monograms on the pieces. This is a relatively heavy. Very substantial set of silver- and, according to my silverware book, a very commonly collected pattern as well. It's really lovely, with a sort of late classic Art Deco shape. Consisting of a beaded band and flowing acanthus leaves at the end of each handle(see photos below) The set is in overall excellent condition. With only gentle wear throughout(if that! There's NO silver loss, NO pitting, NO dark or worn spots, and absolutely NO heel marks- which is remarkable for such old pieces of silver! All shine very brightly, as illustrated in the photos below. You can place this flatware on your table as soon as you remove it from it's wrappings. NOTE: In the photo directly below. Any lines and dark spots on the spoons, particularly in the spoon bowls, are actually NOT on the spoons. I have a fairy wand rating system that I use to base my pricing and description: 5 Fairy Wands- Pristine with no pitting or plate loss. They are shiny with minimal surface scratches. EXCELLENT 4 Fairy Wands- No Pitting or plate loss. But have surface scratches from regular polishing. VERY GOOD 3 Fairy Wands- May have a couple of pinpoint pits or minor plate loss. This listing is for a single spoon which according to the size listed on Replacements.com is called a'fruit/orange spoon' It looks just like a regular teaspoon but they have the'fruit/orange spoon' measuring 5-3/4" and the teaspoon measuring 5-7/8; and this spoon definitely measures at 5-3/4" At any rate. From a local estate. Here is a lot of(12) pieces in the Holmes& Edwards"Orient" or"Venice" pattern. Lot includes(6) 7 7/8" table/ serving spoons, and(6) 5 3/4" tea spoons. These pieces are older, they do NOT have the Holmes& Edwards mark, they are stamped on the back"Earl Wolf 12, not sure if this was a monogram or a business name. Very nice condition with light to moderate utensil wear and a little stubborn tarnish in the nooks and crannies, no plate loss, should fit fine in an existing set.
