2 QUEEN BESS I 1924 Pattern TUDOR PLATE ONEIDA COMMUNITY MADE SOUP OR LADLE SPOONS This auction is for two spoons. As seen in the pictures. They are the QUEEN BESS 1 Pattern. Tudor Plate, with"ONEIDA COMMUNITY MADE" TUDOR PLATE" and appropriate hallmarks stamped on the back of the handles. They have tarnish. I did not attempt to polish as I am not a professional and did not want to cause any damage. They have scratches on them. They do not have monograms. One of the spoons has been flattened in the lowest/deepest part of the spoon. Roughly penny-sized. Shipping for these is either $3 in an envelope with bubble wrap. Up for sale are two Dinner Forks and 2 Dinner Knives in Oneida's Queen Bess Pattern. The forks measure approx. 7 1/2" long and the knives measure approx. 9" long and the blades are marked Tudor Stainless. These are preowned forks/knives and do have the typical scratches and scuffs associated with used flatware. They have no plate loss and no deep scratches. Would fit in well with an existing used set. They may need some light polishing. I may have other pieces of the pattern available- check my store under the flatware category. This popular pattern was introduced in 1946 by Oneida Community with their"Tudor Plate" trademark. I ship only by USPS Priority Mail, no exceptions. This design for this pattern was owned by General Mills. It was made and sold exclusively through General Mills products, i.e. Betty Crocker. One saved the coupons from Betty Crocker products, then redeemed them for the silverware. The design is of a rope of flowers trailing across the handle. Queen Bess 2 was available from 1946 to 1963, and was enormously popular. The 2 is to distinguish it from an earlier pattern also called Queen Bess; this distinction is mainly a convenience for collectors, and was not a part of the Betty Crocker promotional material. The pieces and their approximate measurements are as follows: 8 hollow handle knives with stainless blades about 9" 8 dinner forks about 7 1/2" 8 salad forks about 6 1/2" 8 teaspoons about 6" 8 iced tea spoons about 7 1/2" pierced pie/cake server about 9 1/2" gravy ladle about 7" large serving fork about 8 1/4" pierced serving spoon about 8 1/4" berry shell/casserole spoon about 8 3/4" sugar spoon about 6" and master butter knife about 7" There is no silver loss. These are not pieces of new silver. They show the patina of as much as 65 years of careful use. There are the slight scratches which constitute normal patina. There is no monogram. The pattern is crisp and clear. The chest is labeled Community Plate with a sticker on the inside. This chest is fruitwood colored with faux marquetry on the lids and brass knobs. But do have surface scratches from regular polishing and use. They would be great extras during large holiday meals. 3 Fariy Wands. I have a fairy wand rating system that I use to base my pricing and description: 5 Fairy Wands- Pristine with no pitting or plate loss. They are shiny with minimal surface scratches. EXCELLENT• 4 Fairy Wands- No Pitting or plate loss. But have surface scratches from regular polishing. VERY GOOD• 3 Fairy Wands- May have a couple of pinpoint pits or minor plate loss.
