The Knights of Pythias are dedicated to Universal Peace. Founded on Feb.19.1864, in Washington, DC. The blade is marked; E.A. Armstrong– MF’G. Co. 315 Wabash Ave. Chicago. This is an unusual curved Cavalry style blade with a blood grove. The handle also has a 3 strand basket hand guard. The handle is gold/brass colored metal with a bradded wire twist wrap over what looks like a shark skin? grip. The tip is a lion head with the hand guard protruding from its' mouth. The hand guard has a lily, UR; which stands for Uniformed Rank, Army of the Lily. To a Knight, the lily represents Honesty and Purity.There is also Knights armor& weapons. This is a very fine Indian or Indo-Persian Tulwan sword. It has great silver inlay on the blade and the hilt. The hilt is iron and the silver has worn off so you can only see small trace amounts of it left. The scabbard is wood with a silk covering that is falling apart. But is original to the sword. Many time has have been given new scabbard over the year, and this looks to be at least one of the fist scabbard for this sword. The dagger comes with scabbard that is made of brass like material which might be so-called belon. Leather belt has silver pieces mounted on it decorated with gold. The double edged blade has also gold decorations on it. There's something written on it tha looks like Arabic which is widely used by North Caucasian Muslim population like in Chechnya and Daghestan. Out of the scabbard the sword is just under 72cms long with a blade length of 39cms. The long hilt is clad in silver sheet and thick silver grip rings. The bud shaped pommel is decorated and finished with a brass six petal flower secured with a copper pin. The mid grip is decorated with what may be Naga scales and the collar flares towards the blade. The blade is a very fine and thick fighting type and carries a very sharp edge. Burmese Dha Sword with silver inlay in metal and silver sheath and Hilt. The Dha and its variants were possibly derived from the Naga Dao. A broadsword used by the Naga people. The sword is heavily detailed with figural and writing and the sheath and hilt themselves are hand hammered wonders of decoration with a ball like pommel. There is a red cord rope attached to the sheath with two knotted tassels it makes for an excellent decorative piece and a wonderful example of the silver smith’s art. Old Antique Model 1742 British Infantry Hanger Sword Saber US Revolutionary War
This pattern was given the title Model 1742 Infantry Hanger. These were actualy made between 1725& 1750. They were caryed by British infantry men during that period. And they were also given by Great Britan to the American Colonies to use in defence against the French. Many of these remained in the hands of the colonists at the begining of the Revolutionary war. There were many veriations made including this one. Some had wire wraped, wooden grips. Some had diferent shaped pommels. Most that I've seen had a slightly curved blase like another that I have for sale on e-bay. This is the only one I've seen with the strait blade. There is a small mark on one side of the ricaso that looks sort of like a bell. The blade is very clean and has not been sharpened. There is slight play to the grip and pommel. The heart shaped counter guard ... moreis tight. Overall, the sword is in exelent condition. It's quit unusual to find one of these with its leather scabbard in such good condition. This one has a brass throat, but it never had a brass tip, and the leather is a little frayed at the very tip. Antique Vintage French 1850 Small Court Sword Saber Marked Klinghenthal France
This is a mid 19th centuryt French small sword. There are 4 lines of text on the ricaso. 2 of them are Klingenthal. France. I can't make out the rest. There is an example of this sword in the book"World Swords" bt Harvey Withers. He calls it a small sword that was probably worn at court, posibly by a diplomat. The grips are mother of pearl. All metal parts of the hilt are of gilded brass. There is some movement to the knuckle-bow where it meets the pommel. Otherwise, the hilt is tight. The T-shaped, or triangular blade is nickel plated. The scabbard is made of some ridged material covered with leather and with brass mounts. Overall, the sword and scabbard are in exelent condition. Old Antique US American Model 1860 Cavalry Sword Saber Dated 1864 Civil War
This is a US model 1860 light cavalry troopers saber. It is stamped on both sides of the ricaso. One side; US. CEW. 1864. Other side; MANSFIELD. LAMB. FORESTDALE RI. Inside an oval. All metal parts of the hilt are brass. The wire is missing from the grip and the leather has some minor cracking. But it is firmly in place. The entire hilt is very tight, with no looseness or play at all. The blade has a few minor nicks, and some light surface rust spots. The iron scabbard has a smooth coat of rust over it, but is in very good condition with no dents or dings. The blade cleaner that is just inside the throat of the scabbard is sill there, and the blade fits nice and snug. One of the original clips that had been atached to the suspention sling is still present. The spring loaded clip still works well and can be taken off and reatached. This example follows the 1796 pattern sword and is mounted with solid silver scabbard fittings and solid silver horsehead mounts with an oxbone grip. An American silver mounted horsehead saber of the early 19th C. The style of the silver work on the horsehead is commensurate with some early American silver work I've seen and there were both American and English styles of this sword. The blade is also very faintly marked"Warranted" so the blade is English made. Very interesting example and a great addition to a Napoleonic or War of 1812 collection. Antique Mexican War Sword 1840s
Here is a Mexican Army sword. Unmarked. The sword dates to around the 1840s-50s. Most all of the Mexican Army swords came out of Germany, not sure about this one. The sword is 32" overall with a 26" blade. I expect it was cutdown at some time or the blade could of been broken. Sounds short but most Maxicans were under 5" 4" at that time. The leather grip cover is long gone. Mexicans passed these swords down as they were used up. Shows plenty of wear and tear. I'm sure this on saw service well into the Mexican Revolution. Shows tiny stain on blade but no scratches, no flaw. The temper line is Sugu temper pattern and deep ko-maru temper at the point. The forging grain is tight Koitame-hada with Masa and no forging flaws at all. The scabbard is urushi lacquered wood scabbard. Shows minor silver loss but no dent, no crack and in exellent condition. Here is a pie ce of history I never thought I would own. A wonderful original sword and scabbard from the Revolutiona ry War with very rare hand engravings on the blade. Pictures 4. 5, 6 and 8 show these engravings, the first 3 on one side, the#8 picture of the other side. As you can see, they are both crossed flags, but with a little different theme, 5 has a drum on the center, 8 has a trumpe t. And best of all. 8. At the base of one of the flags, has engraved the#13, has to be for the 13 ori ginal colonies.doesn't it? I feel for the age. Its in wonderful condition, the blade is n i ce. The leather on the hanging strap is deteriorated, but on the s cabbard wrapping. Pretty good. It also has engraving all up and down the brass trimming on the sc abbard. Pictures#10, 11 and 12. Kora swords were used in Nepal and North India for both fighting and sacrificial processes. They are quite similar. Only the sacrificial sword is wider and heavier. This very good battle/ sacrificial Kora sword from Nepal, early to mid 19 C. The heavy down-curving blade is 19 inches long, widening to 5 inches at the tip. The blade is marked with the“bursting sun” talisman near the tip. The handle is all steel bound with braided fiber to ensure good grip, and with disc pommel and cross guard. Three stages pagoda style spike on the pommel. Total length 24 inches. Very good condition. This is an early European. ... moreProbably French, early design hunting sword. This Large hunting sword served a triple purpose in its time as a weapon in battle. Protection when hunting, and as a fancy dress addition that was in fashion at the time. It is unmarked and has a large single edged blade being 21 1/4 inches long and 1 1/4 inch wide. Overall length is 27 1/4 inches. The hilt is of Stag Horn and is decorated with brass buttons. It is not perfect. But it is a fine example of the pre-Revolutionary hunting sword. The counter guard is missing. Actually a piece remains where it was broken, and there is no scabbard, but quite a rare sword, just the same. The blade shows its age but is in nice condition. Antique 1870s French T- Back Military Bayonet Sword .
Up for sale is French 1870s model T- Back bayonet. The bayonet is approx. 25 1/4" long with 20 1/2 blade. Overall bayonet is in good condition shoving some normal wear appropriate for age and use. The handle has sign of wear. Blade and croospiece has some pitting. For condition see picture. Ejector works good. The bayonet marked: RS 55669 and there is some marks like'dimond' M' S' etc. Shipping charges for continental states only.

Antique NS Meyer Spartan sword and scabbard Marion Military Institute Germany
This lot includes a sword. Scabbard and leather holster. The sword itself is 35 5/8 inches long, including the scabbard it is 36 ¼ inches long. The mounts are bronze and have a nice patina. The blade has the NS Meyer mark, Spartan and Germany. The nameplate has the initials CHB. The sword is not marked but we were told this was used at Marion Military academy in Marion Alabama. We believe this dates circa 1920. The blade is in excellent condition with no rust. The scabbard has some verdigris on the bronze and has light rust on the non bronze portion. Old Antique Vintage French Model 1837 Naval Navy Officers Sword Saber Cutlass
I originaly believed this to be a veriant of the US model 1860 Staff& Field Officers sword. But it is actualy a French model 1837 Naval Officers sword. And is the pattern that the S&F was copyed from. All metal parts of the hilt are brass and are all tight, with the acception of the farul at the base of the grip. It is a little loose. The grip is made of carved horn with brass wire wrapped around it. The button that locks the folding guard in place is missing, but the guard can be folded up and down easily. I cannot read the text that is writen in italics on the ricaso, but I bel;ieve it be of the Klingenthal company. The blade has a nice dark patina to its surface, and is in good condition with no nicks. Overall length 37" blade 31 1/16" Payment is due within 3 days from the end of the auction.
