WWII Antique Japan Japanese Army Officers Samurai Sword and Scabbard
Up for auction is an original WWII Japanese Army Katana Samuri Sword with Scabbard. No serial number(s) anywhere. We know that there might be numbers inside the handle and that it comes apart. But I am not experienced enough to take the handle apart, I'm afraid I'll damage the sword. What I know about this sword for certain is that it was brought back to the U.S. after WWII. The person that brought this back is no longer living. His sister found the sword in 1981 in his garage when they were cleaning his house after he had passed away. They have kept it all these years in their home. They didn't know the sword existed until they found it after his death. We do think it's the real deal based on what little information we have. Kukri is most likely pre WW1 and of Indian. Origin. A crisp& very well balanced personal carry combat weapon. Blade of handforged laminate steel constuction. Knife is in usable condition. Blade and handle are secure& solid via a traditional tang& bolster assembly. Blade rings like a bell when plucked. Condition is as shown. Spine of blade is of the flatback variety. A feature found on many kukris of indian manufacture. A possible precurser type kukri to the Mk1& Mk2 issue kukris of WW1. The copper. Bronze alloy adornments are typical of Indian symbols relating to the importance of Emporer Askoka in India's lengthy history. The adornments are securely pinned. The etched script could be of much interest to the collecter. I am unsure of script language. Possibly Farsi, Dvenghari, or Islamic. This is an antique wakizashi Japanese sword I purchased from a dealer in Japan. I was told it was signed Iga No Kami Kanemichi. But it is not papered. It comes in a shirisaya. with silk sword bag. This has a beautiful wavy temper line. There is a blister at the mid part on the Ji and also just before the Hibaki. The cutting edge is in very good sharp condition with no chips or nicks. The cutting blade is 54cm. The total length with tang is 69cm. Total shirisaya length is 79.5cm

RARE Vintage Antique Japanese Samurai Sword! Possibly Hand Made w/ Signed Blade! Up for auction I have a very rare antique Japanese Samurai Sword w/ A Signed Blade and appears to be handmade! All of the decorative pieces on here are brass or copper and have some great patina to them and are very ornate. The top of the handle has a metal piece on it and the handle is some sort of leather or leather substitute as well as a few asian flower decorations. There is a knuckle gaurd and end piece that is metal and has a nice patina. The blade has alot of designs on it and appears to be signed but I do not have any idea of what it says or the maker. It almost appears that this is handmade but that I am unsure of that too. The sheath is covered in a leather type of material and metal accents around it as well as two hangers on the sheath and it is ... moreall very ornate with a nice patina. The blade is in great shape with little to no pitting and shows great detail. Being offered is a nice old antique Moro kris sword. This is a good old one. Probably dating to the late 19th to early 20th century. Has a nice banati wood handle. The beak has been reglued on. Never appears to have had any kind of wrap. The asang strap is broken on the side. The silver collar at the top of the grip is held together with wire. There is a good sized chip to the lower part of the handle. Very nice blade. Straight and slightly canted. The blade is very sharp and would clean up and etch nicely. The dealer I bought this sword from told me that it dates back to the Han Dynasty of China(206 BC-220 AD) He had no more information about it than that. I have some experiance with ancient bronze swords. But I know nothing about copper swords. It looks as if it was painted at one time. This has me a little suspicious of its authenticity. The blade has some ingraving, and the scabbard is very ornatly ingraved. The paint obscures a lot of this intricate work. I can't believe that the person who did all this work would have painted it. It's a very cool sword, but I can't guarentee that it's not a reproduction. The sword and scabbard are solid copper and very heavy. Together they weigh just over 5 pounds. Fresh out of an up state New York estate a samurai era sword guard. Tsuba for a Tanto, knife length sword. It is made of forged iron with a sea wave modified engraved over the entire surface. Wave crests are highlighted in gold dots with some missing and sea shells in gold foil, with some wear as to be expected from an used item this old. There is no other damage and the guard retains its deep chocolate patina, see pictures. This sword has been mounted as evidenced by the copper shim placed in the opening for the tang of a sword. Wear and patina. There is about a 1" chip at one end of the handle, not too distracting, and the brass wire wrap is loose/unravelled. The original scabbard is in excellent condition with maybe only one or two very minor dings. Very good to near excellent"as found" condition overall as noted.
