Antique Vintage KnightsTemplar Masonic Sword Belt Chain Relic
A really interesting Knights Templar sword chain that is in relic condition. It actually has a neat story to it. My father found this buried in the Earth behind an old farmhouse that he recently purchased in central Pennsylvania. Who knows how it got there or how long it has been buried. Having sat in the soil for so long. It is heavily oxidized, but still in solid condition. Unfortunately, the knight emblem is missing an arm. The belt clip has detached at the bottom. Both spring loaded clasps have rusted in place. For a member of the Knights or someone who collects fraternal memorabilia, this would be a great iconic piece. Massive Antique British / English M1796 Cavalry Sword / Saber with Scabbard
British light cavalry saber. 1796 pattern, with steel scabbard. Curved steel blade marked“Osborn” This well-known pattern of cavalry sword replaced the 1788 Light Dragoon sword and was used throughout the Napoleonic wars by British light cavalry. The same pattern was carried by both officers and troopers, although the officers often had blue and gilt decoration. The sword was designed by Major-General John Le Marchant, the famous cavalry leader, innovator and founder of the Royal Military Academy now based at Sandhurst. Henry Osborn of Bordesley in Birmingham was commissioned to make the sword according to Le Marchant’s design and it was approved by the Duke of York. The sword is 37.5 inches overall in length and the blade is 32.5 inches. Offered today is this Nice Attic find. Antique Spanish Fabrica De Toledo 1872 authentic Highly Decorated Sword. It has a Bone handle and is hand forged right down to a rat tail"S" shaped hilt. The blade is 21 3/4" long and about 3/4" wide. The hilt is about 5" across and the bone handle is 3 3/4" long and about 1" thick. The total length is about 26 3/4" long. The sword has some discoloration and a couple of small patches of surface rust as to be expected of an item of its age but no major defects and is in as found condition except for some light oil that I have applied to it about twice a year to keep it from rusting. The specimen comes from the world famous"Zlatoust" Златоусть/ region in Russia which is well-known for their ironwork masterpieces. The sword has taken part in the Russian-Ottoman(Turkish) war for the liberation of Bulgaria(1877-1878) Collectable item which has embed part of the history and an end of an era! EXTREMELY SHARP TIP! We were told the sword has been in our family for over 100 years. Overall sword and scabbard measures 42& 1/4 inches. Blade measures 34& 5/8 inches. Initials"J. H. are on top of handle. Words"mes Mfg Co. Chicopee Mass. on one side of blade. We believe the first letter is an A* Words"U. S. C. E. W. 1864" on other side. We believe the initials stand for Charles E. Wilson. A United States inspector of swords. Scabbard has some rust marks and scratches. Scabbard does not have any dents. Blade has some small nicks in blade. So small I could not get a picture of them. Civil War 1850 US Army Foot Staff Officer's Sword Antique Rare France
This is an auction for a M1850 Foot Officer's sword made in France and was used by company grade officers of infantry. Artillery and riflemen during the Civil War. The design calls for a single edged 30 ½ inch blade which is enhanced by etched floral scroll work. The overall length is 36 inches. The guard. Knuckle bow and quillion are a single piece of cast brass with a pierced floral or open guard. The markings on the guard are shown in the Photographs. The top edge of the blade also has a Name in French etched in as shown in the photos. This Sword is in good condition and is represented again by the photos. This design for the American model 1850 Sword was based on the French model. Very Unusual Ames Civil War Sword with Scabbard. This sword has a M1840 cavalry sword hilt and a M1840 artillery sword blade. The blade is marked“N.P. Ames/ Cabotville/ 1847" on one side and“US/ S.K. on the other side. Brass hilt with wire-wrapped leather grip with leather finger loop. The blade is 32 inches long and the overall length is 38.5 inches. The hilt is solid with no play. The leather and wire are 100% intact. Although there is some wear to the leather. The blade a two small chips on the edge, but is otherwise in excellent condition. Stock Number 55. Henderson Ames Kalamazoo Michigan presentation sword given to F.A. Southwick sometime in the early 1900's. The sword is in remarkable condition for its age. All enameling down to the cross on the knights armor is intact. This is a beauty. The tooled leather case top is missing and the condition of the case overall is just south of fair. The scabbard is in decent used shape. I believe with a cleaning and a polish this baby will glow. One of the close-ups displays the stylized Knights Templar script emblem. The blade measures 31' and is 7/8" wide at the hilt. From pommel to the chape of the scabbard the length is 39 3/4" This is not a copy this is a real Knights Templar fraternal. This is an officer's dress sword belt dating to the second half of the 19th century probably from one of the pre-Confederation German states. It is 44 inches in total length just under 2 inches wide and of silver bullion material as was used for sword knots. The inside is lined with black wool and there are two hinged suspension mounts covered by wool flaps. One mount lacks the terminal and the belt buckle is lacking. Original Antique Japanese Kyu-Gunto Naval Officers Sword w. Scabbard
Here is neat original Japanese Sword that I just got in a small collection. This one is of the Kyu-gunto type for a Japanese Naval Officer. This one is interesting in that it has a Leather scabbard(no shell) Look to be brass fittings. Handle' s wrap skin and wire fully intact. Blade is bright with no flaking or improper care. Handle is slightly loose. Not sure of you could tighten it up. Once I get these I may wipe the blade, otherwise I do as little as possible. Scabbard has a few small cracks, there is one that makes the scabbard a little weak. This crack is shown in the 7th photograph. Carefull removal of scabbard on a flat surface will keep this from worsening. This is very typical of all leather scabbards. No indication of shrikage. Over all a nice example of this type of sword. Has Original Wooden Grips with"Vick" and"VK" carved in handle. Wood Grips have a good tight fit! Knife Measure approx 15 Inches! Fitted in the correct canvas covered scabbard that has leather tip. Scabbard is complete with belt hook and is manufacturer marked A-K-CO and dated 1918 with R.H.S. inspector initials. A good example of this scarce WWI US Model 1917 Bolo knife for your collection. Offering for Auction this Antique German Imperial Prussian Artillery Saber/ Sword Model 1873. Mounted with a massive curved blade. 30" in length, this Saber is 35" overall. The sheath is 31 1/8" long with a nice original patina. Markings: On the side of the handle; RAR47 3B 63; See photos for markings on the top of the blade and hilt. Scabbard markings are also found in the photos. Condition: Excellent Condition for its age. No rust on the blade. The handle, guard and scabbard have nice original patina. There are 2 small dents in the cabbard(see photos) Blade is tight on all mountings and still somewhat sharp. Has not been offered for sale for over 50 years!
