Vintage/Antique Brooches: Swivel Hair Curls & Hand/Fan (Mourning or Love Token)
SWIVEL HAIR BROOCH Approximate Dimensions:5cm x 4.2cm x 1cm Materials and Design: The decorative surround and oval frame are gold colour metal. The surround looks a little like twisted rope and once had applied leaf designs. Most of which are now missing. There is a grey metal simple pin fastening at the back. The oval is about 1cm deep and contains hair made into a decorative pattern on each side. One side is a simple curl. The other has a couple of curled pieces and a flower and leaves which look to be made from finely cut hair strands. There are some pieces of gold colour thread and pearl type pieces but they are now loose inside. Hair Colour: Both sides are a reddish colour but the simple curl is more golden while the more complex design is darker and more like auburn. Condition: The Hair Brooch has a very loose pin clasp and all metals ... moreare very dark and dirty. Inside there looks to be dirt granules and one of the decorative patterns has loose gold thread and pearls. HAND/FAN BROOCH Approximate Dimensions: 6cm x 3.5cm x 1.5cm to back of pin Materials and Design: I think it is moulded plastic in a cream colour in the shape of a hand holding a fan with rose and leaves. Both dogs have red rhinestone eyes and red rhinestone collars, and at their teeny waste, a single white rhinestone on each dog. Both pins are in excellent shape with very little wear-one dog has a hair more wear than the other with a bit of the black enamel coming off the nose, whereas the other dog is almost perfect. Lot Antique Victorian Jewelry Cuff Links Brooches Stick Pin Locket Gold Filled
Lot of antique Victorian pieces of costume jewelry. Some are broken. Some are not. Many cuff links, some single, some pairs. The silver tone rings I believe are non precious metal. The stick pin with clover leaf and blue stone and seed pearls is probably gold plated. The small locket snaps open and shut nicely. The round brooch with the black flower is nice, but missing the pin in back. The crystal egg is in good condition as is the silver tone chain that it's on. The oval silver tone frame for a brooch is missing the stone that was once in it. This might be sterling, but without a hallmark so I will assume silver plated. The 6 round objects to the left in photos might be button covers, but not sure. The bar pin above the stick pin is missing the pin back. It has a little cracking around the rhinestones. It is 3 ½” X 2” 2. Is a blue pin with glass sets it is 2 3/8” X 2” It has a locking pin on the back; it is in very good condition. 3. Is a gold tone pin with USNER on the back. I has a set missing. 1 7/8” X 2 1/8” 4. There is a gold colored buckle(it might be brass) It has a large green stone at the top flanked by 2 pearl sets. Then there are 2 green sets on either side of the leaf design with a blue set in the center, underneath it is a red stone. It measures 1 ½” wide and 1 ¾” long. It has a hook and another piece on the back. It could be a shoe buckle. 5. Is a blue pin in a metal setting. It has 4 blue sets. ... more1 in the top and 3 in the bottom that dangles. It is really pretty. 6. The one with the dangling stars may be gemstones and 7. The heart shaped one in the sealed bag says genuine ruby made in the U.S. A. by Harriet Carter. 8. The one pink card is a gold toned dangling heart and it has a large rhinestone. The bow pin and the small pin with the heart in the center look old. There is a turtle. A poodle and a monkey. They all have rhinestones or colored sets in them. They all have good locking pins on the back. There is a pin with faux pearl beads. 10. The black pin on a small card has 5 rhinestones on a black setting with a gold tone floral design around the outside edge. One goldtone brooch with butterfly. Primary color is pink. Measures 1-5/8" wide x 1-1/4" tall. Glass in great condition, no chips, nicks or cracks. Will need a gentle cleaning as there is embedded soil where the metal and domed glass join. One silvertone brooch with butterfly in colors of teal. Silver and copper body. Antique Victorian Whitby Jet Mourning Brooches Choker Cameo Pendant
A collection of three antique Victorian Whitby/French jet cameo choker& two brooches. The large cameo choker would have been worn close to the neck. Note the two holes on the back to thread some material through it and then attach possibly on a scarf or something similar close to the front of the neck. This lovely piece of chunky carved jet depicts a lady with with flowers and braids in her hair wearing a necklace and earrings. It measures approx 4.5cms by 4cms. It does have some damage to two sections of the border and at the back as seen in photos. The brooch again is beautifully carved and depicts a flower design to the centre inside an oval border. This piece is in good condition and has a steel pin attached to the back. It measures approx 3.75cms by 3.25 cms. Antique Victorian Mourning Brooches, Lot of Eight, French, Whitby Jet, TLC
Antique Victorian Mourning Brooches. Lot of Eight, French, Whitby Jet, TLC Up for sale is an antique lot of eight Victorian mourning pins done in French and Whitby black jet as well as glass and all of which need some TLC. MARKINGS:The only one that was marked was the one in the far right rear or 7th photo. It is marked Czechoslovakia. DESCRIPTION:All of these pins were acquired at estate sales and auctions. All have missing pieces but the clasps are all functional. I will use the single photos in order to explain the measurements of each. The first one is the large round one. It has a matte finish and I believe it to be Whitby jet because it leaves a dark black mark on a piece of unfinished porcelain. It is a domed shape with intricate lined details and almost looks like a large button. The clasp is the old C style clasp and it is built ... moreright into the brooch. There is nothing wrong with this one but I included it anyway since it is a mourning brooch. Victorian and black. It measures 1 5/8" in diameter and stands approximately 5/8" high. It has a weight of 0.4 ounces or 13 grams. Next is the circular one with a large cone in the center, which I believe could be Vauxhill or Victorian French Glass. It is missing one of the leaves but the other pieces are intact. Each of the leaves has a criss-cross pattern. Each of the pieces appears to be threaded onto the the wire and then permanently attached. It measures 1 1/4" in diameter and it has the old C style clasp. Next is the leaf shape with oval shaped cabochons. The material did not test as Whitby Jet but it has a matte finish on the top of the cabochons. The brooch is missing one of these cabochons and all are hand set on a rose gold metal, which is possibly gold filled. It too has the old C style clasp and T bar. It measures 2" x 5/8" The next one is the unusual shaped one that is missing four of the pieces. The glass is shiny and I believe it is French jet. It measures 2 7/8" and has the C clasp. Up for auction is a lot of 5 antique& vintage pins and brooches described as follows: Antique gold tone framed picture brooch& pendant measures about 2 inches high. The frame is filigree and very pretty but the picture inside is not in good condition. It has not been tested for metal content. The jet pin is carved and appears to be made out of glass because it is chipped. It has a gold back that has not been tested. The telephone pin is marked Beau Sterling. It needs a cleaning. The brass or bronze color pin is marked Garmisch on the front and some of the lettering is fading as shown. It looks like it is a scene with animals on top of a mountain. The anchor pin is gold tone and has a mark but it is too small to see and it has not been tested for metal content. I am not sure of the quality of pearl. MATCHING PAIR OF ANTIQUE ART DECO RHINESTONE GEOMETRIC PINS BROOCHES
You are bidding on a'matching' pair of antique art deco geometric paved prong set clear rhinestone pins/brooches. The pins/brooches are almost identical with the exception of the middle stone on the top row: that rhinestone is a little larger than the corresponding stone on the other pin. This pin is marked but I can't identify that maker's mark-pin was probably made in France or Czechoslavakia. Each pin is 1 1/8 inches by 1 1/8 inches. All stones are clear and intact. Pair Antique Coral/Lucite Bubble Brooches Sterling
These come from the estate of Linda Vines. Who recently passed, and we are offering them to the eBay community. Here is a delightful antique pair of bubble brooches. Both running about 1" across. The more squarely framed piece is faintly stamped Sterling on the back. Both have simple catch-C clasps with pins extending well beyond. We believe both to be coral, but we are not experts, and there is a possibility they are Lucite, hopefully you can tell from the pictures.
