But I had someone who was knowledgeable of old hardware look at ... moreit. I am only passing along what I was told, but do not guarantee it. He told me that it was an old rim lock that was probably hand made of iron and probably dated to the first part of the 19th century and maybe even into the 18th century. He also thought it was American made. He also said that it was probably removed from the wood and cleaned. The wooden part measures about 9" by 4 1/2"by 1 1/4" The metal or iron portion measures about 5 1/2" by 3 1/2" by 3/4" The wooden portion has 3 holes where it was used to mount to the door and the metal portion has 2 small holes for mounting to the wood(and the holes are also in the wood corresponding to the metal) I feel pretty confident that the lock belongs to the piece of wood even though it is no longer secured to it. The skeleton key was found with the lock and the lock still works(though not well and the key gets stuck and has to be wiggled and worked to get back out of the hole) Please email with any questions. They are marked on the bottom as is seen in the photos to the right. These plates are in good condition with no chips. Cracks, breaks, loss of design or repairs. CHANCE GLASS RUBY QUILT INTAGLIO 8 3/4" BOWL 1950’S MID-CENTURY MODERN RARE
A VINTAGE CHANCE GLASS. RUBY QUILT INTAGLIO, LARGE BOWL. Size: approx. 220 mm diameter- 50 mm high(nominally 8 3/4" x 2" Introduced in 1957. And only produced in small numbers for a couple of years, this beautiful range of trays, bowls& dishes were decorated in what is now often referred to as the'Quilt' pattern(though not actually named at the time) The outer layer of glass. Here in the lovely Ruby Red colourway, was cut into a pattern of criss-crossing lines, with circles at the intersections, revealing the clear glass underneath. In very good vintage condition free of any chips or cracks. The only exception is just an inconspicuous shallow 4mm sliver to the rim(shown ruthlessly in final macro detail photo) as well as some light surface marks to betray age/use. This is a lovely gold gilt. Hand carved Italian frame from the early 20th century. The interior of the frame(with the glass) measures 10 3/4" by 13" and the outside of the frmae measures 16" by 14" not including the top crest. A very talented, old world carved piece, the back shows the early handwork and detail. The picture inside is included and is pencil signed and inscribed, but is unfortunately unreadable. Basket of flowewrs motiff on top and carved corner cartouches, and pierced carved edges make this piece an outstanding example. There is a piece of missing gilt trim, definitely repairable if desired, or it can be left alone depending on the preference of the buyer. Top quality, early frame for whatever you decorative need. Vintage Mid Century Modern post 1950 Wooden Furniture Legs 3.5"(set of 4)
This is for set of 4 wooden mid century modern furniture legs. The legs measure 3 1/2" tall and measure 1 1/2" in diameter at the top. They have brass swivel feet with teflon slides on bottom. They appear to be cherry, the wood is on lighter side with tight grain. The brass is in good shape with some discoloration but should polish up nicely. Here we have a Pair of Mid Century Candle Holders. Purchased from the estate of a woman who was a world traveler. I don't know anything about these as they are not marked. They measure 13-3/4" tall with actually an artificial orange candle made of metal.Which has a wick on top. The holders can also handle real candles and I think there was original ones at one time. There was some candle drippings on the wood that has since been scraped off. I'm not even sure how these metal candles w/wick operate. Not sure what kind of wood holds the candle but it looks like a dark brown wood. The metal is NOT a shiny chrome but has a more dull chrome metal finish. The metal has slight normal use marks on the finish. The metal candles are 11-3/4" tall. The metal holder with it's three sides measure 6" tall. 25" by 12 3/4" Antique 19th Century Dry Surface Primitive Wood Dough Bowl
This is a very nice antique wood dough bowl. I believe it was hand carved many years ago. I found it in the barn along with some other nice primitives during a clean out sale of an early 19th century home in Bowdoinham. Maine. It measures 24 7/8" long and 12 5/ wide. It is 2 5/8" tall and has a very attractive dry finish. It has a nice primitive look with lots of character. It is in excellent condition and would be a great center bowl for your table.
