This auction is for the fantastic early 19th century pantry box pictured. It is in the wonderful condition shown. This pantry box has all of its original green milk paint. Very very little is missing. Paint is darkened from age and use. Built from bentwood and square nails. This is a smaller size pantry box measuring 7 1/4 inches across the top of the lid and 3 1/2 inches tall with the lid on. The wood has dried out from age and this piece has 2 small cracks from that. Remember this is a very old piece. Shrinkage cracks are to be expected sometimes Please see pictures.The bottom is loose because when the base shrank it pulled away from the side bringing the nail through the side. It is shown in the first picture. Very minor. Easy repair if desired. All nails are loose on the base. The rest of the box is quite solid. This auction is for a rare and unusual pair of antique 19th century whale oil lamps. These lamps are made of brass and feature three burners and a complete set of four tools. The small tools(a tweezer. Scythe, snuffer and bucket) are attached by chains to each lamp. The base is scalloped and sits on three feet. It is a recent find from a local estate along with two other larger antique bowls and one slightly larger contemporary bowl. This bowl measures 4 3/8" diameter. 2" tall and weighs about 12 oz. I believe this bowl was originally identified as a C-10, but there is more recent writing changing the-10 to +4. I was informed it had been in the family as long as she could remember and at one time was a very nice piece.I am no expert so will give it my best shot.With a 13 inch body I believe that makes it a 3/4 size.There is an old label on the inside that reads as follows.Antonious Stradivarius Cremonensis Facibet Anno 1720.Then you have the circle with the AS and the cross.Pictures show plenty of nicks abrasions scratches and the separation on the face.Guessing probably dates somewhere from 1900-1925 with what little research I have done.Any experts or restorers should know more what there looking at and pinpointing age.A little elbow grease and know how and this old Violin could be as good as new.Plenty of pictures so no confusion on condition.Thanks.
