Rare Vintage Norman Bel Geddes Simmons Industrial Writing Metal Desk & Chair WOW
Extremely Rare Simmons Art Deco Metal Industrial Writing Desk and Chair Set This is an extremely rare and sought after industrial steel desk designed by Norman Bel Geddes in the 1930’s for Simmons Furniture Company. It was found at an estate auction. I couldn't believe my eyes. Both pieces, a matching set still together. I believe the paint is original. And both pieces of furniture have the Simmons Label still attached. Both pieces are in the condition that I purchased them. I did clean them off to inspect for any defects. But they will need a more thorough cleaning. The desk and chair both have scuffs and scratches with chipped and worn paint. I didn't see any dents. The desk still has the leveling feet attached. The chair is in the same condition, the vinyl looks to be original and shows age and needs cleaned, but I did not find ... moreany rips or defects. The top does have a discoloration to it, I do not know if this is age or staining, but I will leave that cleaning process up to the buyers preference. Being offered from the longtime owner's heir is this excellent quality American made antique dresser in solid maple with a walnut top and burl trim. Only the brass pulls appear to be replacements. We do not see any veneer being used. Surfaces and edges show wear from normal use but no obvious signs of abuse. Drawers still pull out straight. And feels solid not wobbly. Vintage 3 drawer YELLOW DRESSER
I saved this baby from a fire! I found this vintage piece left behind in a house that had a fire. And it desperately needing new life. so, I RE:vived it! This piece was not touched by the flames or smoke, so no need to worry about smell. I did, however, replace all the drawer bottoms(all new wood) as well as the nobs- I thought a this girl needed a touch of sparkle! The piece was carefully primed with oil based primer and coated with a subtle/soft yellow, and the distressed to reveal the beautiful original wood underneath. All the drawers work perfectly and it will slide right into its new home on its original castors. This piece would make a great addition to a bedroom or even an entry way. This beautiful makeup vanity is a perfect example of the Art Deco Waterfall style. It was purchased as part of a wedding suite by the bride's parents in the late 1930's and was in the master bedroom of the couple in their South Jersey farm house for over 75 years. It is in excellent condition as it was lovingly cared for by the bride until her recent death. The drawer pull and knobs are original and are made with Bakelite- the new material of the era. There are 6 good size drawers- all gliding as if brand new. There are no wood distress problems. Notice in the pictures the large. Oversized, 2-tone mirror. ANTIQUE GENTELMAN'S SHAVING VANITY This is a listing for a very unique antique shaving vanity with a center drawer. Storage compartments, and tilt mirror. The mirror measures 15" high x 9" wide framed in a 1 1/4" wood frame. The base measures 20" across x 13" deep with a 13"x11 1/2"x 2 3/4" pull out drawer, two top side compartments for tie clasps, cuff links, etc. each measuring 5 1/2"x 2 1/2" x2" with hinged lids, and two gull-wing flip out compartments for straight razors, combs, etc. The mirror glass is in good condition with no cracks or breaks. The drawer has unique locking devices which are mounted on the ends of the flip out gull wing compartments which need to be opened before pulling the drawer out. Vintage Art Deco Tri-fold Mirror Mirror-clad Vanity Dresser Table
You are bidding on an old deco style mirror clad dresser or vanity table with a tri-fold mirror. The legs are painted or stained wood and the top and sides are mirrors including a tri-fold mirror. There are two drawers as well. Made of maple. The piece could use some touching up with black paint or stain around the mirrors and here and there on the legs. There are some clouding and other spots(the black shadows where the silvering has worn out on the back of the mirrors) on the mirrors but the glass is intact and looks interesting. You can see all this in the photos(sorry for all the reflections but it is hard to take a picture with all these mirrors! The tri-fold top can be taken off with a couple of screws. Circa 1940s/1950s Waterfall Dresser with Attached Mirror
When our daughter moved much to her dismay she found some of her furniture was not to have a home in the new house. One of those pieces is this waterfall dresser(someone marked the back of the mirror"1960" making it 55 years old) complete with mounted mirror(we have the mounting sticks. But I chose not to mount the mirror to make it easier to move) The dresser measures 36" high and 18" x 42" at the top. If you look at the pics, one shows the inside of the drawer as very clean, all three drawers are clean. There is a nicked piece and I highlighted the pic to show it and a larger pic to show where it is on the dresser, the only other comments as to condition are that the dresser shows the usual wear on corners as shown in the pictures. The style was rustic. Which fit the character of the Spanish ... moreRevival Architecture and Rancho style homes. The Monterey line was initiated by an interior decorator. Who saw a piece in a movie set and believed that there was a need for a furniture line that accompanied the Spanish or Mission Style homes being built in the area. Frank and George Mason made the initial design sketches. In late 1929 they started the Monterey furniture line. Twenty four designs were part of the initial run. And this expanded to about 120 different pieces within four years. There were at least three different bedroom sets. Six dining room sets, sixteen different upholstery pieces. Sixteen end tables, occasional and coffee tables, and four different desks and secretaries. The lumber was chiefly alder from Oregon that was run through multiple drum sanders to ease the edges and provide an antique or rustic look. The pieces were glued and laminated with a hot glue. And then finished or upholstered. The finishes were all oil stained or base-stained with asphaltum and antiqued by paraffin and rotten stone. This is a nice curly or birdseye maple vanity dresser from the Innis Pearce Co. In Russville, Indiana. It has four drawers in the front and mirror with adjustable sides. It measures 71 inches tall, 48 inches long, 18 inches wide. The mirror measures 51 inches high from the tallest point in the middle mirror. It is a gorgeous piece with only a small amount of damage on the right side(a little water spot) Also one of the handles does not match, but found a similar replacement. The drawers have some candle wax residue under the paper lining. The top has been sanded and refinished with light stain because it had some cigarette burn marks from previous owners. It originally was a friends mothers. It dates back to the early 1900s. It is now in a smoke free home and kept in nice condition. I offer local pick-up only. Art Deco waterfall bedroom set from 1946. As stated it is close to seventy years old with appropriate wear. It is fully functional. No broken draws,missing hardware that I am aware of.
