It measures 9 3/4" from the fitting to the top of the handle; about 8" deep from the end of the threaded pipe to the center of the drain hole; and it is 11 1/4" on center from the hot and cold supplies. The center hole for the drain pipe is 2" in diameter. A magnet does not stick to any of the metal, so I assume it is old nickel plated brass. A few old wrench marks on the nuts, but it just adds to the piece.The center plate is marked Viceroy, Top Bell. The faucet handles are marked H& R Mfg. Co. No. 1. The drain hole has a little bit of rust showing but not much. A rust sealer should keep it from spreading prior to installation. The overflow hole shows a bit of cracking in the enamel, though that should be covered by the overflow assembly. There is a large chip on one of the edges. Though this should be covered by tile once installed(see pics) This isn't cosmetically perfect, but it's a well-used survivor. If you can live with some cosmetic imperfections and wear, then this is a great tub! Antique Vintage 'Chase' Bath Tub Drain Overflow Assembly 1930's
Here is a very cool and unique old complete'Chase' tub overflow/drain assembly. This was removed from a home that was built in the 1930's. This has an internal stopper. And it's controlled by a lever that moves from side to side. All components are brass. Both the drain flange and strainer have lost most of their plating. But the strainer has a very unique design that I've never seen before(very Deco) The waste shoe has some dings on it from removal, but it is not cracked or distorted(pic 12) The overflow cover plate houses the lever. And both are fairly scratched/scuffed from years of cleaning. The lever itself does have some dings and there is one small gouge on the overflow cover plate(pics 4-8) The action on the lever is nice and smooth, there looks to be a spring-loaded pin that runs against a guide to give it a little ... morebit of drag. It just feels well-made! The set will be broken down into components for shipment. There are no rubber gaskets included. And I would also recommend replacing the packing at all of the compression joints. The porcelain cap/knob is clearly marked"waste" and appears that it would turn in one direction to hold the bath water. The other to drain it. The cap is attached(permanently as far as I can tell) to a nickel hardware fixture that is a total of 2.5" in length and 1.5" in diameter. There are two nipples on either side of the tube that I assume are for securing the fixture to one position(hold water) or another(drain water) In the lot where this came from is a long porcelain escutcheon(5" tall; 2.5" diameter at one end; 4" diameter at the other) that looks like a mini nuclear plant tower. Here is an American Standard'Master Pembroke' alcove tub from 1948. It is in' Ivoire De Medici' with a left-hand drain. The enamel is in very good condition. But the first 1 1/2" around the edges are worn and chipped from where the tile was installed. Otherwise. The floor's enamel gloss is just barely worn and there is a small crack in the enamel near the drain ... moreopening as well as about a 6" mark in the enamel on the back wall of the tub. Check all photos for condition. The drain hole has a little bit of rust showing but not much. A rust sealer should keep it from spreading prior to installation; there is also a small stress crack in the enamel that radiates from the opening(see pics) The overflow hole is very clean with barely any rust showing. For installation purposes. Plan on covering the edges and base of the tub by 1 1/2" to cover the worn spots. This was installed in a bathroom with a stall shower, so it appears that this didn't get a whole lot of use based on the condition and gloss of the enamel. Antique Vintage American Standard Bath Tub Drain Overflow Assembly 1950's
Here is an American Standard tub overflow/drain assembly that dates from the 1950's. This is the design where the stopper is a'pop-up' type that works more like a sink. All components are brass except for the overflow cover and control lever. Which are zinc/pot metal. It operates as it should. The plating on the stopper and drain flange are scuffed/nicked/dinged and worn from years of use. The overflow and lever are very corroded and pitted. As is common for these metals as they age. Check all photos for condition. The set will be broken down into components for shipment. I would recommend replacing all of the rubber gaskets and joint packing prior to installation. Here is a tub/shower faucet set that was removed from a 1940's-era bathroom. I'm not sure of the manufacturer. This is designed for directing the water down to a spout-only or up to a shower-only, there is no diverter. The upper outlet is plugged, since the shower control for this particular faucet was on the tub spout(not included) Of course, it could also be used in a walk-in shower. The spout that was installed with it was a Crane piece, though I'm pretty sure that this isn't a Crane faucet. The'HOT' cap is missing. And the'COLD' cap is a bit dull from wear(see pics) The handles are lightly pitted, and the escutcheons have just a few light scuffs here and there. These are long stems. Which sometimes pass through rim of or are on the exterior of a tub. Claw Foot Bath Tub, Slightly Used
Oh Wow. This is a near perfect 5' not sure) Claw Foot Bath Tub from our 1928 Garage Apartment. We removed it 20 years ago and doubt we will ever use it, so time to go. The great thing is since it was a garage apartment it was hardly used and the porcelain is bright and shinny from the lack of cleaning with abrasives. As you can see there are no chips and I personally removed and cleaned, painted the feet. I doubt you will ever find a better finish unless you find a NOS one. We will hold for 4 weeks. Pick up is preferred, but we have a shipping department and will crate and pack at your expense. The body and framework look to be in good shape, with some rust on the metal reinforcement bars on the bottom. It measures approx. 60" long x 28 3/4" deep towards ends and 32" deep at center. Vintage Victorian style hanging soap dish for claw foot type tubs. Very. Very heavy duty(4 brass screws hold the front to the hanger) with what appears to be nickel plated brass construction. Very beautiful in it's own way. Very good used condition. About 5-6 small worn spots where the brass shows through(on the back side-last photo) and some remaining soap residue. No dents or serious dings. Nice addition to your period. Remodeled bathroom! Your item will be bubble wrapped and shipped in a box. Antique Castiron Claw Foot Bath Tub Brass Faucet Unique Design Knobs & Soap Dish
This is vintage chrome plated heavy brass faucet for a early cast iron claw foot bath tub. This faucet is very unique with great design. Very cool hot and cold knobs, and even the original soap dish. This faucet is stamped by the manufacturer which is Gopher. The condition is good with honest wear for age, there is some chrome plating missing, and it may need new seals,and some polishing wont hurt, but with a little love this piece would make a great authentic addition to any antique tub. Antique Vintage American Standard Bath Tub Drain Overflow Assembly 1940's 1950's
Here is an American-Standard tub drain/overflow assembly that was removed from a tub that dated from the 1940's. Though this trim style was used well into the 1950's. Please note: it is missing the stopper. The overflow plate is in decent shape and has the usual pitting in spots; the lever moves freely. The drain flange is in decent shape as well with some scratches and nicks from years of service. Though the plating is mostly complete. Please check all photos for condition. The set will be broken down into components for shipment. The original(dry) rubber gaskets are included. And I would also recommend replacing the packing at all of the compression joints.
