It is clean and has achieved a nice color from the Victorian era. The holder is in original condition and has been washed with water. The chrome has partly worn away over the years. Toilet paper holder made by the wolverine brass works. Not 100% on the metal but I believe it is nickel plated brass. On front it says John V. MacDonald plumbing& heating middleport Ohio. Which is located along the ohio river in meigs county. Mounts to wall and comes with the wire and wood dispenser. Wonderful item and I've researched and found none like it. Mr MacDonald according to ancestry.com was born in 1885 and passed in 1952. And was a plumber in meigs county area for a number of years. Any questions feel free to ask. Thank you. Antique forged wrought iron toilet paper holder 1800s early 1900s
honestly i'm not even sure if it's a toilet paper holder. it seems like it is to me because of how the bar moves and the 2 screwholes at the back but for all i know it's a tie holder or something. my guess is 1800's but it may be very early 1900's. I just do not know enough about it. most of the other items i see made the same way have been 1800's

VINTAGE LATE VICTORIAN BRASSCRAFTERS TRADE MARK TOILET PAPER ROLL HOLDER 10 pics Subject: A late Victorian antique Brasscrafters toilet paper roll holder. Solid brass with spherical brass balls/ knobs that have been soldered on the sides. And a wood roller that still retains 90+ percent of it's original black enamel paint. This piece measures about 6 3/8 inches at it's widest point by about 4 1/2 inches at it's longest point. The wooden roller is about 5 3/16 inches long, not counting the brass tips at it's ends. Many of these toilet room fixtures were nickle plated on brass, including many Brasscrafters fixtures, but this Brasscrafters toilet paper holder shows no signs of ever having had nickle plating. There is no residue of nickle plating anywhere on this item, there is a small spot of white metal on the back but this ... moreappears to be some solder that splattered on the piece, and not any sort of plating residue. The piece is marked" TRADE MARK The Brasscrafters" It has three holes for mounting. This item does show some very minor signs of age patination like small surface scratches, and minimal oxidation effect but overall it is in excellent condition considering it's 100 plus years of age. One of the brass tips, on the end of the wood roller, appears to have been slightly worn but it still works very well. This item comes with free shipping to anywhere in the United States. And weighs three solid pounds, unwrapped. The J.L. Mott Company(Bronx, New York City, New Jersey) dates back to the 1830s and went out of business about a hundred years later. They were famous for their high quality porcelain, brass and cast iron bathroom fixtures, some of which adorned the White House in the nation’s capitol. To this day their products have withstood the test of time, and are well known in circles of house restorers and collectors of antique plumbing. The Equity A.P.W Paper Co. Toilet Paper Holder Vintage/Antique Circa 1878 This wonderful Antique Cast Iron Toilet Paper Holder Made by the A.P.W Paper Co. in Albany. NY features a latching mechanism rather than the traditional spring loaded roller. You simply press a button on the left end of the roller and it pops open on a hinge. Wall Mounted. Accepts modern TP rolls. This piece is Gorgeous as is. However in it's original new condition was plated a shiny nickle. Rolled and perforated toilet paper as we're familiar with today was invented around 1880. Various sources attribute it to the Albany Perforated Wrapping(A.P.W. Paper Co. in 1877. and to the Scott Paper company in 1879 or 1890. On a side note. The Scott Company was too embarrassed to put their name on their product, as the concept of toilet paper was a sensitive subject at ... morethe time, so they customized it for their customers. Before Seth Wheeler of Albany patented his posterior product in 1871. There was already toilet paper in some form or another. But it was usually just individual squares- often medicated- and not a roll like we use now. According to the US patent office. Wheeler patented what was then called perforated wrapping paper(toilet" was a sensitive word in 1871) He patented the idea to have the product wrapped around a central tube in 1891, and is also often credited with patenting a bracket to hold those tubes. Antique 19th Cent. Victorian Era Cast Iron & Wood Toilet Paper Holder
This is an antique 19th century Victorian cast iron and wood toilet paper holder ca. 1880's. Notice the cute little gripping hands that mounts it to a wall or cabinet. There is a heavier bar that raises up and down that was apparently used to tear the paper. The frame measures 8" wide x 4 1/8" high; the bar that raises measures 8 7/8" wide and the wood roller measures 7 1/2" wide. The hands are wired on the frame so they would not get lost. Antique Vintage Brass Toilet Paper Roll Holder Victorian Hardware Towel Mounted
Up For Auction is this Antique/ Vintage BRASS Wall Mounted Toilet Paper Holder. Measurements of entire TP Holder are 6 1/4 wide" x 4 1/2 high" x 2 1/2 deep" There are 2 supporting holes for securing to the wall. However. The mounting screws do not come with TP Holder. The BRASS Back Plate measures: 1 3/4" high x 6 1/2" wide and has heavy patina. The wooden roller is in excellent condition even through decades of use. There is a solid brass rod that inserts through the wooden roller. With two set screw knobs attached at each end. You can use either end to unscrew the knob, remove brass rod, place TP on roller, and then replace the rod and secure the screw knob. This process takes about 30 seconds. Vintage 1940s Hand Made Military Shell Double Toilet Paper Holder Oak Base The pickens were slim this weekend as far as auctions and estate sales. So I went to a favorite antique mall that always has an awesome February sale. Picked up lots of antiques and unique items to list! I also continue to list new items from the farm estate auction, with lookouts more new hardware pieces over the next several weeks. I am also going to one of my favorite flea market shows this weekend, so wish me luck! There’s something for everyone! O.K. I purchased this one at the antique store, and I'll tell you what the tag said, it called this piece a, WWII trench art toilet paper holder. I think people use the term trench art a little too loosely, so I don't use it unless I know that it is for sure, but what I can tell you is that this piece appears to ... morehave the age, if not older, and it is a unique hand made piece! Now, as far as the toilet paper part goes- it's a double roll holder. At first, I thought that the roll was supposed to mount on the fingers on the shell- but there's too much space- leaving about 1/4" of air on either side of the roll when I held it to it. The pointed"fingers" that stick out of the brass shells that are mounted on the wood are soldered in, so they don't move. Measuring point to point on the fingers, there;s 4 5/8" of space, and measuring from their bases against the shell to the other in the same spot- it's 5 1/4. Then, I realized that I was going about it the wrong way, you are actually supposed to put the roll on vertically- a two-fer- each shell holding 1 roll, and it fits two rolls very well. It's a pretty cool piece. The base is made of oak and measures 8" by 2 3/8" deep. The piece is 1 1/8' tall at the base and 6 1/2" tall at the shells. Now, the shells are affixed by hardware from the underside of the base- they do spin around in their places, and will move slightly back and forth, but only if you force them- otherwise, they stay st
