2 VINTAGE ANTIQUE BRASS / BRONZE FAUCETS HOT COLD
You are bidding on 2(two) BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE BRASS/ BRONZE FAUCETS THAT APPEAR TO BE NICKEL PLATED. They appear to be a pair with one marked with a“C” and one with an“H” on the handles. They appear to have no other markings. When in the off position they measure approximately 6” long and the threads measure approximately 13/16” in diameter. They appear to have all the original hardware and it appears that there are no cracks or chips. The knobs turn hard. The threads have no damage. Since I did not take these apart. I do not know if they work properly. These are in as found condition and need cleaning. There is some staining and a great deal of finish loss but overall they appear to be in solid condition with great patina. I’ll leave the restoration and cleaning to the professionals. Architectural salvage from an old home in Brenham. Texas. Either from"W. N. Froy& Sons Limited" Founded in 1850, or"N. Froy& Sons Limited" founded in 1978(I'm not sure which) The latter has a website. The cord leading to the shower head is plastic or rubber(not brass) These are sturdy fixtures. And weigh about 15 pounds in total. The large fixture measures approximately 8" from outer porcelain edge to outer porcelain edge; the exposed portion of the small fixtures(that is, not counting the pipe) is approximately 5" from top to bottom. Some of the brass is scratched and nicked. With green corrosion. Vintage Solid Brass Faucets With Porcelain Handles/ Set Of Two. These are two heavy duty. Farm fresh, brass water faucets that were removed from an old hotel. I was told that they are over 75 years old. I don't know enough about these faucets to verify that they are in fact over 75 years old, but they look very old. One handle is marked"COLD" and the other is marked"HOT" The porcelain is not cracked or chipped. These faucets would make a great addition to your plumbing restoration project. I believe the base metal is brass or bronze with a chrome finish. There appears to be some paint splatter or other dirt on each piece so a good cleaning will be needed. I did a basic wipe down with a damp cloth to get the dust off and show the potential of these great pieces. Each one measures 5 ½ inches tall; 4 ¼ inches from the tip of the faucet to the back of the stem; 2 ¾ inches across the handles; water opening of the faucet measures ½ inch by ¼ inch; threaded pipe is ¾ inch and the base that would sit on the sink is 2 inches across. Hot& Cold, Distressed Brass, Nearly Matching but Not Quite! Product Details: These faucets are quite similar and it took me a few minutes before I noticed that they aren' matching. The handles don't match in that one has flat spots and the other one balls. The spouts are nearly identical except for the fittings just above them(one is larger than the other) The mounting plates that sit on the sink or counter are not quite the same size. With one being a bit larger than the other. While I'm ... morenot sure. I think they both came from the same sink before they came to us. I think they could still be used together if you like the really rustic look(that they don't match would then be a plus) Of course they could also be used separately. The spout of one is about 4" from the end to the center of the fitting. The other measures 4-1/4" One is about 4-1/2" high from the bottom of the mounting plate to the top of the handle. And the other is 4-1/4" Both are well tarnished and have a great green patina(especially one of them) They have marks on them from handling with wrenches and other tools. They have fittings attached as shown. I blew through both and found that the valves seem to be working. But I would still suggest that you replace the seals since I didn't test them with water, and it would be a good idea anyway. One of the mounting plates is a bit bent and has built up material on the block part directly below it. Please see the pictures for more details. This is a vintage nickel plated over brass faucet which would fit an old fashioned claw foot tub or cast iron sink. It has the porcelain Hot& Cold buttons on the faucet handle tops and it comes with the turn bolts to tighten it up to the tub. It would extend about 2 ¼” from the tub or sink wall and is about 5 ⅛” tall overall. The threaded 1” pipes in the back of it will fit holes 3 ⅜” o/c. Manufactured around the 1920's by Republic. The faucets are in good working condition and the handles turn freely. Each faucet is marked Republic right above the spigot. These faucets are nickel over brass(you can see the brass where the nickel has worn off) and the porcelain handles have some fine hairline cracks. They measure 6 ½ inches high x 3 ½ inches handle to base x 4 inch spout. Normal wear to the nickel plating. Overall condition is very good. Old Antique Copper Or Brass HOT Water Faucet from Historical St. Louis House
Purchased at estate auction of an old historical home in downtown St. Louis. MO. It's either copper or brass, can't tell exactly but the coloring is extraordinary! Just a beautiful piece with the word HOT in an old time fancy font style. Handle rotates and feels like it is opening and closing the valve but is also a little loose. Threads are good.
