Antique Brasscrafters Bathroom Cup Soap Toothbrush Holder
Both pieces are marked The Brasscrafters; the cup/soap holder is also marked with“Pat. Sept. 1901” I’m not absolutely sure about the last number. The toothbrush holder does not seem to go with the soap dish/cup holder. But they are being sold together. The toothbrush holder looks almost unused, but the lower smaller tier is bent. The metal is thinner that that for the other piece and is probably solid brass. The cup holder/soap dish has heavy wear or tarnish to the brass. I don’t know if it is solid brass or plated. There are reddish areas of what looks like copper. My guess would be plate. This piece has no dents or dings. The toothbrush holder is 3 ¼” high and 3 ⅜” wide at its widest. This piece is from a farmhouse in NW Indiana built around 1885; might possibly have been an upgrade when indoor plumbing was installed. Soap dish measures approximately 4.5"L x 3.75"W; overall. Combination piece measures 5.125" tall. The only place where the cast iron is visible is on the back, left side at the screw holes which would be facing the wall. There are some chips to the porcelain which look worse in the photos due to the magnification than they do in reality. '09 antique INDUSTRIAL SOAP DISPENSER hand KEY LOCK glass GLOBE hardware SOAPURN
For sale is an antique industrial soap dispenser. Like something you might see in the bathroom of an old service station. The maker is"SOAPURN" and it is made in the USA. The earliest patent date on the glass globe is 1909 and the latest is 1917. The entire piece measures about 6.5" from the very top of the globe to the bottom of the dispenser rod. It is also almost 5.5" deep from the wall. The diameter of the globe is about 4" The globe is made of glass and the mount is magnetic. I even see a bubble in the glass which is a testament to it's age! This is a super cool industrial piece but the best part of it is the still intact key which turns a screw into the globe so the globe and contents are locked into place and can't be tampered with. This hollow barrel type key has a square opening that slips into the ... morelocking mechanism wonderfully! Sort of reminds me of a pocket-watch key on steroids! I have seen and sold antique soap dispensers before but I have never seen one with a cool key locking mechanism like this! The entire piece is in very nice shape with typical wear and oxidation from age and use, as pictured. The condition is original. It has not been cleaned. There is some cloudiness to the glass globe and light oxidation on the metal parts. There is one small shallow chip on the base of the globe(see last pic) where it articulates with the different metal parts but this is typical and expected and only visible when removed from the mounting bracket. Finally there are some scratches/scuffing on the metal nipple portion a seen close-up in the 7th picture. Please note that I did not remove the glass globe from the'screw-on nipple dispenser' part. It is on there tight and I did not want to force it. If you choose to try and separate them I would suggest soaking it in warm soapy water for a while. Buyer pays shipping fee based on zip-code. Here is a GENUINE and RARE ANTIQUE powdered soap dispenser circa 1910. When I got it. The nickel plating was almost completely worn away and the parts were fused. I had it restored to full working order and re-nickeled. It is now in fabulous MINT condition! It is brass underneath the nickel and the glass is thick and handblown with little air bubbles in it. The piece is marked and dated as follows: CAPHENIN CHEM CO WAVERLY. IOWA PAT MAR. 8- 10 This soap dispenser is wall mounted. It has a hand lever which releases powdered soap. T o refill with soap. T here is a spring and cam mechanism. You hold the glass globe. Pull towards you to disengage the cam and swivel until the globe is upside down. You can see this in photo# 6 where the glass is shown upside down. The glass unscrews from the base and can be filled. I know it sounds complicated ... morein words. But the action is easily done. This is a heavy. Substantial piece- weighing in at about 2 lbs. It would be stunning in a period kitchen or bathroom. Antique porcelain enamel bathroom WHITE cup & toothbrush holder soap dish hook
Wonderful antique bathroom set from the early 1900s! These are in very good to excellent condition. I would say, considering their age. The white enameled porcelain over cast iron is still shiny white, with no discoloration or staining. There are no chips or broken pieces but a few small nicks down to the iron, mostly in places you don't see, such as around the screw holes. I have spent hours searching for pictures in other places of these pieces; the robe hook is typical, but I have never found this exact soap dish and toothbrush holder design. I did find only one photo of the cup holder at an antique site. To the best of my ability I will try to accurately describe each piece of this fine set: Cup holder- 4" tall. 4 1/4" deep(from the wall) 3 1/4" cup circumference. Underside has a 3/8" nick to the iron and some ... morelight gray scratches Toothbrush holder- 7" long. 2 1/4" deep. Has one tiny nick to the top rim. The second hole from the right has an indentation that looks like a chip, but it does not feel rough or sharp, neither looks like a chip under magnification. Soap dish- 4 3/4" wide. 5" deep. The glaze has worn off on the top surface, probably because of contact with soap, I would suppose. It feels rough. Some small, short, faint gray scratches on the rim. Notice in the photo the hairline fracture on the top and on the underside, where you can see a bit of rust. It looks like a fracture clean-through, but there is no"give" when you apply pressure. Robe hook- 2 1/2" tall. 2 1/4" deep. Has a visible nick to the iron on the top mount rim, three tiny rust specks, and a very small gray scratch. These pieces are in such nice condition that I actually mounted them into drywall for a time in our old farmhouse bathroom just for"looks. took them down when we moved, and they have been in storage since. Antique cup. Glass holder with with scalloped soap dish. Nickle over brass. Nickle shows some wear on the inside of the soap dish. Has some scuffs and normal wear and some oxidation elsewhere. Nice decorative bowl. Urn shaped glass holder on curved arm. Measures approx. 3 1/2" wide x 6 5/8" tall x 5" reach from the wall. Cup holder diameter is approx. 2 3/4" and it is approx. 1 3/8" deep. Exquisite Antique Brass Soap Dish
This is a rare and unique solid brass soap or trinket dish from a collection belonging to my mother. It is old but I don't know the exact year. It depicts a Baby Cupid Mermaid holding a shell. It is either a soap or trinket dish. I have researched the item and found it to be quite rare. Having located only one on an auction site. It is 4 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches high. It looks like it may have a small mark on the back but I am not sure. This is a heavy piece in great condition. It has some value but I am pricing it with no reserve to illicit some fun bidding. Following are the measurements: 8 ¼ inches from the outside end of one faucet handle to the other. The round soap plate is almost2 ½ inches in diameter. I believe, is a faucet mount or could be a wall mount missing bracket. Which ever it my be it is in very good condition with some soap residue but has no cracks, chips or heavy scratches. The bottom dish does drain out the back with the brass bracket designed with an oval shaped hole to allow the water to pass through. Very neat and rare piece.
