HUGE Pair DRESDEN PORCELAIN CANDELABRA w/ PUTTI FLOWERS Von Schierholz German Offered for sale is this huge pair of Dresden porcelain 5 light candelabras. Each with 2 putti and applied flowers throughout. Each candelabra separates into 2 pieces as shown in the pictures- just the bases would be really pretty single candlesticks if you prefer. SIZE: The candelabras are approximately 23 inches tall. From candle holder to candle holder they are approximately 14 inches wide. I put a can of Coke with them in one picture so you can see the size. CONDITION: Each of the upper candle holding parts has a repair to an arm. And a putti is missing a thumb- the pen is pointing to these in the close up pictures. There are the typical scattered small chips to petals on the applied flowers. Please see the close up pictures. Pair of Antique German HP Porcelain Candlesticks Ca 1907
Up for the auction is a pair of amazing antique(Ca. 1907) German Von Schierholz's Meissen style glazed porcelain candlesticks made in Meissen style with the winged cherubs surrounding by the flowers and supporting the candle cups(pics. 1-6) It is beautifully hand painted in pastel colors with a great attention to the details(pics. 7-11) Very beautiful. Eye catching pieces, real treasure and high quality pieces of art! Marked on the bottom as shown on pic. 12. In an very good condition for the age with a small professional restoration to one of the cups under the scalloped rim and not noticeable if not to turn it over. Also there are a couple of tiny nicks on the foliage(see pics. 10-11) Provenance: this is my last item from the estate of Maria Helen Alvarez-Smith who was a president and part owner of Tulsa's first TV station back ... morein 1949. CANDLE HOLDER JAPAN 170 Unique porcelain candle holder in blue and white design. Looks like Japanese pictures of boats inside of dish. Rectagular in shape the dish measures just over 6" long. 3 1/2" ... morewide and 2 1/4" high. The number 170 appears on top of the white upright in the dish and a very faint number 37 is impressed into the bottom of the dish. Curved, leafy handle and contoured sides on the dish make this different from the average candle holder. These elegant pieces measure 2 3/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide. I could not find any maker's marks. They are in good vintage condition but do have some damage- see pics. One petal tip is broken from a yellow rose; several petal tips are broken on the pink ones and a green leaf from a pink one. These delicate pieces come with an amazing Provenance- they are from an 80 year old lady in Oklahoma who related this story in her own handwriting. She was married in 1951 so this story comes from either 1948 or 1949. In 1951 before I was married my weakness was shoes. As I walked 3 blocks home each evening from work I passed by the only shoe store in the small town ... moreof Hill City. Kansas. I stopped in frequently. The owners of the store had relatives in Austria and had returned from a trip there. While they were digging around in the basement of her grandfather's store.they found these candle holders and grandpa told her she could have them. They brought several dozen home with them and put them in the store. When I stopped in they had only 3 or 4 pairs left. They had sold them all in one day woman to woman by telephone. Offered is a antique Bavaria Waldershof Germany porcelain and brass night candle holder. The holder and handle are made of solid brass. The handle has a sculptured leaf on it. The base of the holder has cork under it so as not to scratch the plate. The plate is porcelain china accented with 22k gold and pictures of a colonial couple courting. Underneath the plate is a crown with Bavaria Waldershof Made in Germany and the number 82 also in 22k gold. The center of plate underneath also has the Bavaria Waldershof Germany logo and the word INGEBORG in light green lettering. Completely free of chips and no paint flaking. HOWEVER. I need to include this so you know what you are getting. In pic 7. I marked on the picture an A and B. Those are on the pic and not on the item. Beautiful antique porcelain 3 candle holder. Boy and Girl in colorful clothing. Beautiful pink roses adorn the candlestick. The top part is a seperate piece from the bottom. I'm not sure how it is joined. All of the hands. Fingers and roses are amazingly intact! One of four leaf petals is missing that surround the large rose at the base. There is a line running along the back. I'm unsure if it is a crack or a repair. I zoomed in on the last picture) It measures 12" h x 8 3/4" w at candlesticks 4" w at scene 4.5" w at base Beautiful collectible piece to add to your collection.
