Curved, leafy handle and contoured sides on the dish make this different from the average candle holder. The lady is wearing blue/green gloves and is in an ELEGANT low cut dress with matching blue/green design. She has gold plate trim and her shoes are also gold plate. The gentleman is wearing a ruffled shirt and his pants and jacket have the same pattern as the lady's dress. His long jacket has the blue/green cuffs. And inside is blue/green too. He is wearing blue/green shoes. They both have the BEAUTIFUL ROSEBUD LIPS! Lots of GOLD PLATE trim all over. Nothing identifiable on base. BEAUTIFULLY MADE! Marked only with an incised number in the clay of"6016" and printed in red"128" This was made before the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 which required that the name of the country of origin must be printed on each piece of porcelain and ceramics. This lovely flo blue or flow blue candle holder features a flower and leaf theme. The exterior is a dark colbalt blue that ebbs into a lighter blue. Antique Porcelain Candle Holder Set Handmade Austria Rs Welcome to kitten*magik This is a gorgeous lot of 4 anti que handmade rose candle holders. There are two pink and two yellow. These elegant pieces measure 2 3/4" tall x 3 1/4" wide. I could not find any maker's marks. They are in good vintage condition but do have some damage- see pics. One petal tip is broken from a yellow rose; several petal tips are broken on the pink ones and a green leaf from a pink one. These delicate pieces come with an amazing Provenance- they are from an 80 year old lady in Oklahoma who related this story in her own handwriting. She was married in 1951 so this story comes from either 1948 or 1949. In 1951 before I was married my weakness was shoes. As I walked 3 blocks home each evening from work I passed by the only shoe store in the small town ... moreof Hill City. Kansas. I stopped in frequently. The owners of the store had relatives in Austria and had returned from a trip there. While they were digging around in the basement of her grandfather's store.they found these candle holders and grandpa told her she could have them. They brought several dozen home with them and put them in the store. When I stopped in they had only 3 or 4 pairs left. They had sold them all in one day woman to woman by telephone. If I remember correctly she told me they were handmade. They have some age.so have a broken petal or so. ANTIQUE BAVARIA WALDERSHOF GERMANY CANDLE HOLDER PORCELAIN AND BRASS RARE
Offered is a antique Bavaria Waldershof Germany porcelain and brass night candle holder. The holder and handle are made of solid brass. The handle has a sculptured leaf on it. The base of the holder has cork under it so as not to scratch the plate. The plate is porcelain china accented with 22k gold and pictures of a colonial couple courting. Underneath the plate is a crown with Bavaria Waldershof Made in Germany and the number 82 also in 22k gold. The center of plate underneath also has the Bavaria Waldershof Germany logo and the word INGEBORG in light green lettering. Completely free of chips and no paint flaking. HOWEVER. I need to include this so you know what you are getting. In pic 7. I marked on the picture an A and B. Those are on the pic and not on the item. There is a very fine short hairline crack at both spots. It is very hard ... moreto see and I did not notice it until I had it in bright light. It does not go to the edge of the plate and is about 1/4 in long. It does not effect the value of the item. The plate is about 6 inch across and the holder is 2.25 inch tall. Overall with the plate it is about 3 inch tall at the handle. Very nice collectible. I ship most everything i sell Expedited Mail. Both pieces are back stamped with the Morimura Nippon mark, dating 1896- 1921; this pair is likely c. 1905-1915. With Le aves underneath to catch wax.The Figurine is either a Victorian Man or B oy.This piece is almost Perfect. Except for 2 Very Small Chips on the Back of 2 Leaves. On the Left Side on the Reverse.Pics are attached. They measure less than 1/ 8" and do n't show from the front. My guess is that they may have come from the factory this way as I think the leaves would have broken off i f done afterwards. Anyway. Here is an antique pair of porcelain elephant candleholders. The only mark I found is the one shown in the second photo above; It is stamped on the inside blanket. Both sides, on one elephant only. It appears to be a 4. Then a few horizontal lines, and then a Chinese or Japanese mark: looks like a dot, then a horizontal line under it, then two lines under that that looks like legs. Measure 10" long by 10" high by 4.5" wide. These elephants are in overall very fine condition. With one candleholder top having been broke before and then repaired. Up for the auction is a pair of amazing antique(Ca. 1907) German Von Schierholz's glazed porcelain candlesticks(1-5) They are made in Meissen style and have the winged cherubs surrounding by the flowers and supporting the candle cups(pics. 6-7) They are beautifully hand painted in pastel colors with a great attention to the details(pics. 8-11) Very beautiful. Eye catching pieces, real treasure and high quality pieces of art! Marked on the bottom as shown on pic. 12. In an very good condition for the age with a small professional restoration to one of the cups under the scalloped rim and not noticeable if not to turn it over. Also there are a couple of tiny nicks on the foliage(see pics. 10-11) Provenance: this is my last item from the estate of Maria Helen Alvarez-Smith who was a president and part owner of Tulsa's first TV station ... moreback in 1949. HANDLES& TOP ARE A NON-MAGNETIC METAL MAYBE PEWTER, I AM NOT SURE. THERE IS A BRASS RING AT BASE AND TOP OF THE PORCELAIN. THERE IS ALSO A LONG BRASS ROD THROUGH THE WHOLE HOLDER, BUT THE NUT AND WASHERS ON THE BOTTOM MUST HAVE BEEN ADDED. IT IS QUITE UNIQUE AND OLD. IT LOOKS EGYPTIAN TO ME! I CAN'T TELL YOU MUCH MORE ABOUT THIS ITEM. BUT IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS I WILL TRY TO ANSWER TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. THERE LOOKS TO BE A VERY THIN SCRATCH ON THE PORCELAIN. Very delicate and beautifully painted candle holder. No marks or any identifying features that I can see. I'm afraid. In excellent shape apart from a tiny chip(visible in 1st picture) Approx 3.75" across. 1.25" tall at handle.

2 Antique Austrian Porcelain Hand Painted Candle Holders- PH Leonard-Count Thun
Beautiful c.1890-1908 Victorian Candle Holders with Hand Painted Design. There is a lovely pale green underglaze to the porcelain with pink hand painted roses design and gold gilt rims. The crown and double shield mark of PH Leonard. The former New York importer, 1890-1908. The mark indicates by Tarriff(import) law that these were produced by the Count Thun factory between 1880 and 1906. Artist Signed(ML) and Stamped. Each 4" Tall. Wonderful Condition with no Chips. Cracks or Repairs.
