There are loose black threads throughout, used to sew the rags into strips for weaving. There are less on the side that seems to have been up; likely the threads came off through use. But the rug shows little use- looks wonderful! This rug came out of a VERY dusty old attic, and really needs cleaning. That attic held many other long-forgotten antique hooked and rag rugs. Antique German Meissen Porcelain Candle holder [19th Century}
This is a large Antique Large German Meissen Porcelain candle holder. The age is 19th century. It is approximately 14 1/2' inches H. The base is approximately 6 3/4' inches W. It is marked in the bottom. It has been broken before. The base part was glued back, and the lady head was broken off and glued back. they are some small chips on the flowers. This piece is a very nice work by Meissen. It is still a very nice decorative piece. And it would worth to restore.
