Each with 2 putti and applied flowers throughout. Each candelabra separates into 2 pieces as shown in the pictures- just the bases would be really pretty single candlesticks if you prefer. SIZE: The candelabras are approximately 23 inches tall. From candle holder to candle holder they are approximately 14 inches wide. I put a can of Coke with them in one picture so you can see the size. CONDITION: Each of the upper candle holding parts has a repair to an arm. And a putti is missing a thumb- the pen is pointing to these in the close up pictures. There are the typical scattered small chips to petals on the applied flowers. Please see the close up pictures. Marked only with an incised number in the clay of"6016" and printed in red"128" This was made before the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 which required that the name of the country of origin must be printed on each piece of porcelain and ceramics. This lovely flo blue or flow blue candle holder features a flower and leaf theme. The exterior is a dark colbalt blue that ebbs into a lighter blue. This is a beautiful matching pair of fine German thin bisque porcelain bud vases/candle holders. A small amount of candle wax is inside each. Both are marked on the back side with what appears to be" Germany 5397" see photos) They are the same height; each measures 8 1/8" tall x 2 3/4" wide at the base; the base is 2" deep(front to back) According to a German friend of mine. These were made in the 1930's. Pair of Antique (Ca 1907) Winged Cherubs German HP Porcelain Candlholders
Up for the auction is a pair of amazing antique(Ca. 1907) German Von Schierholz's glazed porcelain candlesticks(1-5) They are made in Meissen style and have the winged cherubs surrounding by the flowers and supporting the candle cups(pics. 6-7) They are beautifully hand painted in pastel colors with a great attention to the details(pics. 8-11) Very beautiful. Eye catching pieces, real treasure and high quality pieces of art! Marked on the bottom as shown on pic. 12. In an very good condition for the age with a small professional restoration to one of the cups under the scalloped rim and not noticeable if not to turn it over. Also there are a couple of tiny nicks on the foliage(see pics. 10-11) Provenance: this is my last item from the estate of Maria Helen Alvarez-Smith who was a president and part owner of Tulsa's first TV station ... moreback in 1949. This 7 3/4 inch tall pair of candle holders is marked in green under glaze Dresdener Arts Germany. There is a chip on the red rose and two petals damaged on the yellow rose. It is marked in the bottom. It has been broken before. The base part was glued back, and the lady head was broken off and glued back. they are some small chips on the flowers. This is a nice antique German Volkstedt porcelain pair of Italian style candle holders/ candelabras with gilt decorated women that have floral decoration on their clothing as well as other gilt decoration throughout. In pretty nice shape as the pics show with some minor imperfections from age with the women having a couple of imperfections to the hands. One of the rims around the candle has a small imperfection and some minor wear/ losses to some of the gilt/ gold decoration as well as normal minor wear for porcelain due to age and it comes exactly as shown. It has a somewhat rare mark for Volkstedt that has an N under a crown.
