Each of the cherubs one dressed in pink the other blue are holding bows with arrows and on the reverse side of each is there quiver with arrows in it. It appears the boy in blue is shooting the arrow and the girl is catching it. This stunning pair of antique white porcelain. Heavy gold guilt, hand painted floral motif chamber candle holders/sticks are in beautiful condition, void of cracks or chips. Both are individually marked"G 537" by hand in red paint and have a bright silver decal which once held the name of the maker. These pieces resemble Dresden, Limoges, Nippon, or French Sevres porcelain and have very fine hand painted(overglaze) flowers with beautiful heavy gold guilt work. Antique German Volkstedt Pair Porcelain Candle Holders Women & Gilt Decoration
This is a nice antique German Volkstedt porcelain pair of Italian style candle holders/ candelabras with gilt decorated women that have floral decoration on their clothing as well as other gilt decoration throughout. In pretty nice shape as the pics show with some minor imperfections from age with the women having a couple of imperfections to the hands. One of the rims around the candle has a small imperfection and some minor wear/ losses to some of the gilt/ gold decoration as well as normal minor wear for porcelain due to age and it comes exactly as shown. It has a somewhat rare mark for Volkstedt that has an N under a crown. The reason I know that it is Volkstedt is because I have a few other pieces that match it that I will be listing that has a different mark for Volkstedt. Offered in this sale is a pair of antique German porcelain figural candle holders that were made by Sitzendorf in Germany in the early 1900s. They measures roughly 12" tall x 6 7/8" in diameter at their widest across the base. They are both marked on the underside of the base with a blue crossed lines mark and are also each impressed with the number 182. The condition is very good. There is minor loss to the tips of many of the very delicate flower petals which is often the case with these early foliate pieces. Otherwise, there are no other chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration. Be sure to enlarge and magnify each image for a close up view of the detail and condition. Pair Art Nouveau Lady Statue Candle Holders Antique German Porcelain HP Signed
Offering a pair of hand painted signed lady statue candle holders made in Germany circa 1898. They are 9 1/2" high and 5" wide at the base. Two elegant ladies in draping gowns carry water vessels on their shoulders. The vessels serve as candle holders. Hand painted skin. Hair, faces and the vessels. Lovely detailing, shading and color. Small flower clusters in many colors all around the gowns. High gloss clear glaze on the figure; unglazed on the bottom. Very pretty movement to the swirling dress. Marked on the bottom with what appears to be the initials KHE. Handwritten. Also an incised number, 954. Excellent antique condition without chips. Cracks or repairs.
