Antique Victorian Sink - Circa 1890 with Backplash, Valance and Brass Leg
Antique Marble Vanity Top- Circa 1890 with Backsplash. Valance and Brass Leg. The top dimensions are 33 1/2" x 22" the backsplash is 12" the valance is 4" and the leg is 29" tall. This is a great looking complete vanity set with aged painted patina and finish. The top does have some discoloration and a hairline crack on the left of the bowl(see pictures) and the two valances are cracked but complete. The backsplashes and the valances have been painted over, and we stripped a small section and the marble appears to be in great shape. The valance wall mounts and the leg are brass and in great condition with the original lacquered finish that can be easily removed to bring out the original luster. VINTAGE LATE VICTORIAN 3 ARM SOLID BRASS TOWEL RACK/HOLDER BRASSCRAFTERS? 9 pics
VINTAGE LATE VICTORIAN 3 ARM SOLID BRASS TOWEL RACK/HOLDER BRASSCRAFTERS? 9 pics Subject: An antique. Late Victorian, three arm, solid brass with old nickel plate towel rack/ holder. This is a very heavy, early piece which measures about 11 1/2 inches at it's longest point by 4 9/16 inches at it's highest point. The overall weight of this piece is about 2 pounds and 5 ounces. The nickel plating on this piece does appear to have some oxidation issues going on. As an after thought experiment, after I took the photos, I sprayed a small amount of orange glow on a rag, and along with some elbow grease did some cleaning on the top arm. The results were that this item retains more than 95 percent of it's nickel plating, and that most of that has a very lite surface oxidation, that would more than likely clean up very well if one used ... morea proper polish instead of orange glow. The piece does have some paint residue on the bracket, most of that being on the back of the bracket, as well as some small paint splatters but here again the proper polish would more than likely remove most of the paint. This piece is unmarked from what I can tell but it does appear to have the type of high quality one would find in one of The Brasscrafters pieces. Up for auction is a ca. 1900 Victorian period solid brass. Wall-mounted toothbrush and cup holder. Please note: This is a period item, it is NOT a reproduction of any kind! This came out of a home in the Garden District in Galveston, Texas. It has the remnants of at least two layers of paint, white and green, so this will need restoration, but there are no structural flaws, damages or repairs. This is an easy restoration, either remove the paint and repaint, or remove the paint and polish the brass. Personally, I would take this down to the brass but I will leave this decision up to the new owner. This measures approximately 3-1/2" wide at it's widest point x 7-1/2" in height with a 5" extension from the wall. Measurements of entire TP Holder are 6 1/4 wide" x 4 1/2 high" x 2 1/2 deep" There are 2 supporting holes for securing to the wall. However. The mounting screws do not come with TP Holder. The BRASS Back Plate measures: 1 3/4" high x 6 1/2" wide and has heavy patina. The wooden roller is in excellent condition even through decades of use. Antique Ornate Vintage Victorian BRASS BRONZE FAUCET Pipe Part Spout Absolutely beautiful ornately designed S-shaped faucet pipe. Measuring 6.5" long by 5" tall from spout to knob on top. It has threaded openings on both sides. One to connect to the water source and one which a spout would be attached. There is a knob on top which would turn to release the flow of water. But at this point it no longer turns due to age and may need to be oiled up in order to move it. I am not an expert on these and am not the original owner so I do not know how or if this piece would work as intended. So please see all photos and decide for yourself. I have a very nice early water spigot with original patina for your consideration. Solid cast brass that would buff to a shine if you wish. Bring some real character to your shop garden or home with this original authentic period water fixture. Upon inspection threads are snug and seat nicely although will probably need a new rubber or composite washer seat. See pic. Stem cap cover seat appears to be in good condition as well. Threads appear to be a standard hose for utility needs for flexibility of application. Some minor wrench marks along threading mount nut. Questions welcome other wise what you see is what you get.
