It measures approximately 8 1/8 inches wide" center to center rear threaded holes" by 12 1/2 inches deep by about 5 1/2 inches tall. It appears to be a fairly unique configuration. I believe that this was originally on a porcelain Kitchen sink, although I am not 100% certain. We did not attempt to clean or polish the faucet and it is fairly dirty. I does show some expected signs of wear from age and use. The handles hot& cold handles turn nicely. 1890s – 1920s Rare Nickel Plated Brass Toilet Paper Holder
This auction is for an early 1890s– 1920s nickel plated brass toilet paper holder from the earliest roll toilet paper days. This well made holder has one permanently mounted roller(still rolls smoothly) over the rod that connects both sides. And the other roller(appears to be on ball bearings and still rolls) slides off the curved bars to attach the TP roll. There is wear to the nickel plating and some dents on the rollers. The holder measures 5.2 inches inside width; approximately 3.5 inches deep; and the screw holes are 6.6 inches on center. Weighs about 1.2 pounds. I have never seen another like this nor could I find one on the web or in my references. A great period piece for the late Victorian to Edwardian period bathroom. Overall. Antique vintage nickel brass toilet paper holder complete wooden roller & screws
This was still hanging in our 1897 farmhouse when we bought it 2 years ago. As found condition with good shine to the black painted roller. The nickel/brass roller end cap, and the roller holder. There are a couple tiny original green paint spots on the upper left end of the wall bracket, and white paint on the bracket, roller end cap and roll bar. I know the green is the original color because the claw foot tub in this bath was originally painted this color green with the white over it. The wall bracket and top of the roller holder have discoloration from age, but give the appearance that they could clean to a shine as well. The end cap was designed to be held to the wooden roller with a tiny tack that kept the roller in place while changing the roll. If re-tacked together the cap will fit perfectly on the end. In very small letters inside ... morean oval on the bracket are the letters"SMCo" with the o inside the C. Screws included are the ones by which it hung. US shipping only. It is made of nickel plated brass. It is marked with embossed letters The John Douglas Co. Cincinnati. O. Pat. Sept. 22, 1908. It is tamper proof meaning you can only change the roll if it is empty. To remove the empty roll, you need to tear it off and press the spring release mechanism to slide the spool to the side. Would look great in an old fashioned bathroom. Very vintage nickel? Brass? wall mount bathroom drink / cup holder w/ hook
Nickel or perhaps brass wall mounted cup or drink holder. The finish is pretty worn whatever it originally was. Piece is marked: silver& co. NY" Piece is in fair condition showing some wear I will describe. It looks as though a brass sort of material was plated with silver or nickel and the plating has mostly worn away leaving it a brass or bronze sort of color. The whole thing has a greenish tarnish. It's got a great old look just the way it is or you could clean it thoroughly so the whole piece has a dull brass look. Metal is scuffed and dinged a bit but overall pretty nice. Piece will need to be thoroughly polished when buyer receives it. Piece is being sold as-is. So take a good look at the photos.
