This is a rare and unique solid brass soap or trinket dish from a collection belonging to my mother. It is old but I don't know the exact year. It depicts a Baby Cupid Mermaid holding a shell. It is either a soap or trinket dish. I have researched the item and found it to be quite rare. Having located only one on an auction site. It is 4 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches high. It looks like it may have a small mark on the back but I am not sure. This is a heavy piece in great condition. It has some value but I am pricing it with no reserve to illicit some fun bidding. Great old soap dispenser. Chrome over brass. Chrome is in good condition, it is a bit dirty and could use a polish. Top button cap unscrews for filling. The the cap is split in one spot see pictures. The fluted glass ball is in great shape has no cracks, chips, or breaks. Dose have some paint splatter. You can see the swirls in the glass as well as the air bubbles from when it was made. It works with liquid soap but dose have a steady drip. Dispenses soap when knob is pulled out. This knob may have been spring loaded at one time but it only works manually now. It is nice and clean and has achieved a charming color and wear that displays well. The nickel has almost entirely worn away over the years and the bottom shows a little nickel. Made from brass in the early 1900's. It is 4 3/8" long. 1 7/8" high and 3" off the wall.
