It is clean and has achieved a nice color from the Victorian era. The holder is in original condition and has been washed with water. The chrome has partly worn away over the years. This is a very rare and ornate piece which was used to plug the drain hole in a sink back before the days of the built-in stoppers. These would usually have a nice chain attached to the ring located on the top so it would remain by the sink and not get lost. Here is a great old marble top sink. Complete with TePeCo cast porcelain basin; this style of sink was very popular in the late 1800's. There is a crack at the center hole in the marble that goes clean though. This should be reinforced prior to installation(see pics) This is finished on 3 sides. So this can be placed in the open and not necessarily in a corner. This also appeared to have brackets for support judging by the holes underneath. Though ... morethere are no support pieces included. The bowl was separated for cleaning, and all of the attachment hardware is in good shape, note that this will be broken down into components for delivery. The basin is in good shape with just a few tiny pocks in the glaze. The finish is lightly scuffed in spots from years of cleaning. But overall it's in excellent shape for being over 100 years old! The marble is fairly worn with some scratches and scuffs. Overall the marble is relatively dull, though marble can be polished(that patina is desirable to some, it's really personal taste) Please check all photos for condition. Antique Marble Vanity Top- Circa 1890 with Backsplash. Valance and Brass Leg. The top dimensions are 33 1/2" x 22" the backsplash is 12" the valance is 4" and the leg is 29" tall. This is a great looking complete vanity set with aged painted patina and finish. The top does have some discoloration and a hairline crack on the left of the bowl(see pictures) and the two valances are cracked but complete. The backsplashes and the valances have been painted over, and we stripped a small section and the marble appears to be in great shape. The valance wall mounts and the leg are brass and in great condition with the original lacquered finish that can be easily removed to bring out the original luster. Up for auction is a ca. 1900 Victorian period solid brass. Wall-mounted toothbrush and cup holder. Please note: This is a period item, it is NOT a reproduction of any kind! This came out of a home in the Garden District in Galveston, Texas. It has the remnants of at least two layers of paint, white and green, so this will need restoration, but there are no structural flaws, damages or repairs. This is an easy restoration, either remove the paint and repaint, or remove the paint and polish the brass. Personally, I would take this down to the brass but I will leave this decision up to the new owner. This measures approximately 3-1/2" wide at it's widest point x 7-1/2" in height with a 5" extension from the wall. NICE Antique Victorian Two Piece Tulip Sink w/ Surround & Overflow #4
Antique Victorian two piece tulip sink with overflow and surround. Sink is 13 1/4" round x 6" deep with mounting holes which match up to the surround. Surround is 19" wide x 5" high without sink. This is a tulip sink as shown in picture#5. The rust on the inside of the sink does not go through. It badly needs bead blasting. The sink can mount to the wall. Sit on fancy brackets, or mount on a pedestal. The last four pictures show any damage that I saw. There is surface rust on the bottom of the sink in places and at the right angle of the backsplash. Some small rust spots in the sink and on the edge. The larger one on the edge is a chip. I believe It's a wonderful old sink and I hope someone can use it! Antique Victorian old faucet Spring loaded
Very old and extremely heavy compared to other old fashioned faucet's. There are 3 of them included in this auction. My guess they probably were in a public. Theater? school? 1920's? The way they spring back to the off position would tell me they did not want people letting the water run. I tested them and are functioning. Because of age they are sold as is. Antique 19th Cent. Victorian Era Cast Iron & Wood Toilet Paper Holder
This is an antique 19th century Victorian cast iron and wood toilet paper holder ca. 1880's. Notice the cute little gripping hands that mounts it to a wall or cabinet. There is a heavier bar that raises up and down that was apparently used to tear the paper. The frame measures 8" wide x 4 1/8" high; the bar that raises measures 8 7/8" wide and the wood roller measures 7 1/2" wide. The hands are wired on the frame so they would not get lost. Measurements of entire TP Holder are 6 1/4 wide" x 4 1/2 high" x 2 1/2 deep" There are 2 supporting holes for securing to the wall. However. The mounting screws do not come with TP Holder. The BRASS Back Plate measures: 1 3/4" high x 6 1/2" wide and has heavy patina. The wooden roller is in excellent condition even through decades of use. Antique Victorian toothbrush holder Wood & hand bead work - UNIQUE!
Well. I can't say for sure that this is a toothbrush holder, but when i bought it(about 15 yrs. ago from an antique store) that's what they said it was. It's a very curious item. Looks handmade and if I had to venture a guess, I would say it is the"Eastlake" style. At the highest point it stands about 6& 1/4" tall and at its widest(across the front) it is approximately 4& 1/2" It is all original, with the exception of one little nail on the back(you can clearly see the shiny nail in the pic. I put that in years ago to make the shelf part a little tighter. The little shelf piece still have a very small amount of"wiggle" to it, but is not in danger of falling off, and when hanging on the wall it doesn't sag. There are 3 slots(maybe for toothbrushes? The"G" looks like hand bead-work ... moreover needlepoint. I am no expert, so take a close look at the pics and judge for yourself. There are 9, kind of larger, pointy/stud/nails across the front, which I am assuming is not only for decoration, but to hold the fabric edge down. The edge has more bead-work. There isn't really a pattern so hard to tell if any beads are missing. I never saw anything like it before and have never seen anything like it since.
