Toilet paper holder made by the wolverine brass works. Not 100% on the metal but I believe it is nickel plated brass. On front it says John V. MacDonald plumbing& heating middleport Ohio. Which is located along the ohio river in meigs county. Mounts to wall and comes with the wire and wood dispenser. Wonderful item and I've researched and found none like it. Mr MacDonald according to ancestry.com was born in 1885 and passed in 1952. And was a plumber in meigs county area for a number of years. Any questions feel free to ask. Thank you. honestly i'm not even sure if it's a toilet paper holder. it seems like it is to me because of how the bar moves and the 2 screwholes at the back but for all i know it's a tie holder or something. my guess is 1800's but it may be very early 1900's. I just do not know enough about it. most of the other items i see made the same way have been 1800's

And weighs three solid pounds, unwrapped. The J.L. Mott Company(Bronx, New York City, New Jersey) dates back to the 1830s and went out of business about a hundred years later. They were famous for their high quality porcelain, brass and cast iron bathroom fixtures, some of which adorned the White House in the nation’s capitol. To this day their products have withstood the test of time, and are well known in circles of house restorers and collectors of antique plumbing. This is in excellent shape and takes well to brass polish. I have not seen another one so cannot compare it to any other brand. The Equity A.P.W Paper Co. Toilet Paper Holder Vintage/Antique Circa 1878 This wonderful Antique Cast Iron Toilet Paper Holder Made by the A.P.W Paper Co. in Albany. NY features a latching mechanism rather than the traditional spring loaded roller. You simply press a button on the left end of the roller and it pops open on a hinge. Wall Mounted. Accepts modern TP rolls. This piece is Gorgeous as is. However in it's original new condition was plated a shiny nickle. Rolled and perforated toilet paper as we're familiar with today was invented around 1880. Various sources attribute it to the Albany Perforated Wrapping(A.P.W. Paper Co. in 1877. and to the Scott Paper company in 1879 or 1890. On a side note. The Scott Company was too embarrassed to put their name on their product, as the concept of toilet paper was a sensitive subject at ... morethe time, so they customized it for their customers. Before Seth Wheeler of Albany patented his posterior product in 1871. There was already toilet paper in some form or another. But it was usually just individual squares- often medicated- and not a roll like we use now. According to the US patent office. Wheeler patented what was then called perforated wrapping paper(toilet" was a sensitive word in 1871) He patented the idea to have the product wrapped around a central tube in 1891, and is also often credited with patenting a bracket to hold those tubes. His company. Albany Perforated Wrapping Company, was founded in 1878 in Albany, NY. This Paper Holder was salvaged in a barn in nearby Historical Copake. NY.

Antique 19th Cent. Victorian Era Cast Iron & Wood Toilet Paper Holder
This is an antique 19th century Victorian cast iron and wood toilet paper holder ca. 1880's. Notice the cute little gripping hands that mounts it to a wall or cabinet. There is a heavier bar that raises up and down that was apparently used to tear the paper. The frame measures 8" wide x 4 1/8" high; the bar that raises measures 8 7/8" wide and the wood roller measures 7 1/2" wide. The hands are wired on the frame so they would not get lost. Up For Auction is this Antique/ Vintage BRASS Wall Mounted Toilet Paper Holder. Measurements of entire TP Holder are 6 1/4 wide" x 4 1/2 high" x 2 1/2 deep" There are 2 supporting holes for securing to the wall. However. The mounting screws do not come with TP Holder. The BRASS Back Plate measures: 1 3/4" high x 6 1/2" wide and has heavy patina. The wooden roller is in excellent condition even through decades of use. There is a solid brass rod that inserts through the wooden roller. With two set screw knobs attached at each end. You can use either end to unscrew the knob, remove brass rod, place TP on roller, and then replace the rod and secure the screw knob. This process takes about 30 seconds. Antique vintage nickel brass toilet paper holder complete wooden roller & screws
This was still hanging in our 1897 farmhouse when we bought it 2 years ago. As found condition with good shine to the black painted roller. The nickel/brass roller end cap, and the roller holder. There are a couple tiny original green paint spots on the upper left end of the wall bracket, and white paint on the bracket, roller end cap and roll bar. I know the green is the original color because the claw foot tub in this bath was originally painted this color green with the white over it. The wall bracket and top of the roller holder have discoloration from age, but give the appearance that they could clean to a shine as well. The end cap was designed to be held to the wooden roller with a tiny tack that kept the roller in place while changing the roll. If re-tacked together the cap will fit perfectly on the end. In very small letters inside ... morean oval on the bracket are the letters"SMCo" with the o inside the C. Screws included are the ones by which it hung. US shipping only. Vintage Toilet Paper Roll Holder - Marked TRADE MARK BROOKLYN - Antique Bathroom
I'm not much of an expert on these so ask questions if ya have them. Very sturdy. All welds holding well. Wood in great shape. Note the damage on the silver dollar sized round washers on each end of the roll. No idea how the peck marks got there, but I do know that the brass can be repaired and hammered back to shinny and new looking.

Antique White Porcelain Toilet Paper Holder Brackets
Up for sale is a set of antique white porcelain toilet paper holder brackets. One bracket has a round hole and the other a slotted hole. The base measures 1 1/2" x 2" and the are 3' long. There are some very small chips located adjacent to three of the screw holes.

Purchased it years back in Florida and it supposidly was on a ship in the 1930's. It has'Standard Made In USA' stamped in the front and looks like someone at sometime cleaned that part to see the name stamped. Other than that area it is all original patina. Great find antique toilet paper holder. Nice decorative cast iron star pattern on each end. This a early toilet paper holder before the roll was perforated needed the serrated blade to cut the paper. Overall very good condition. Will function with modern rolls. Single rolls work the best. The modern double rolls sit on top, but as they are used it drops down into the holder. The Unique Antique Victorian toilet paper holder 1893 black cast iron
This cast iron toilet paper holder is in very good condition. There is minor surface rust. Minor enough to just leave as is. The backplate reads: The Unique A.P.W. Paper Co Albany N.Y. The back is marked Sept. 26- 1893 49. It has a great patina from age and is a heavy piece made from thick iron. one arm has a button on the side that when pushed it releases the hook allowing the arm to pivot on its hinge this is to change the rolls of toilet paper. The lettering is done in an ornate Victorian font and is very heavily embossed. This vintage accessory could be the crowning glory for your throne room(sorry) It measures 6 1/2” x 2 1/2” Please refer to my 100% positive feedback rating and I’m eager to respond to your questions.
