Most of the nails have surface rust which differs from the layering in the keg and all appear unused. They are great vintage nails for use with arts and crafts. Furniture restoration, or anywhere else that requires antique detail. There were three open kegs containing 2 1/4" and 2 1/2" square cut nails and I have found some of them mixed together. PA that were built in the 1800's. 03-7*They have weathered over the years and they have a few water stains. Worm holes and air dry cracks. They were driven into the mortise joints in a post and beam constructed house or barn. They are in a nice rustic condition and would make great hanging hooks or pegs for all sorts of things. This is a great looking set of four matching antique picture nails. All four have original end threaded metal nails and brass rings around green stars under sandwich glass. They appear to be unused and are in very good condition as seen in my pictures. Note the brass has not been polished. They measure approx. 2 3/4" long with 7/8" dia heads. They don't come any nicer than these you just unscrew the head. Hammer in the nail then screw the glass head back on.
