Tremont Nail Co. History of Cut Nails booklet of antique nails.
This listing is for a display pack of old fashioned cut nails from Tremont Nail Co. A fascinating bit of architectural history. Would make an interesting display for historical architecture enthusiast. Packaging has some yellowing due to age. But is intact with no tears and still holds nails securely. Nails have surface rust, which I did not attempt to clean as some might see that as a design feature. I do think it would clean off easily though, if you wanted it gone. See photos for details.

Vintage Tremont Nail Co cut nails
Vintage Tremont Nail Co has been around for many years. Producing vintage construction products. These wrought head 2.5" 64mm) cut nails were left over from a country cabin in the beautiful North Ga Blue Ridge mountains. Tremont old fashioned cut nails(stock no. CW-8M) are hand forged for an antique nailing effect on new or restoration work. They have awesome holding power and won't back out. They've been used for years and have a sterling reputation. Put some history into your next project! A little history: The original Tremont mfg building was constructed by shipwrights in the early 1800's as a cotton mill. It was partially burned by the British in the War of 1812. Then rebuilt and purchased by Isaac and Jared Pratt in 1819 to manufacture nails. The mill was partially destroyed by fire again in 1836. Reconstruction was ... morecompleted in 1848 and the mill stands today as it did then, without any significant changes over the past 150 years. There are 60 nail machines in the mill, many over 125 years old, still cutting nails today the same way they did a century and one-half ago. The main mill is one of five buildings on the site over 100 years old.
