The images mirror each other so this ... moreis a true pair and the lamps feature two different views. On one side is a striped awning, draped pavilion with tiled floor. It's a party with elegantly dressed and coifed Lords and Ladies conversing while servants offer refreshment. On the opposing side is a lovely longtailed songbird in a rose thicket surrounded by butterflies. Both scenes are topped by raised golden lizards with long tails. The handles are green opposing or"kissing kitties" The"walls" dividing the scenes feature 2 pairs of scaled google eyed coy fish and abundant flora decoration. The surface of the lamps has a wonderful slightly raised texture where the paints were applied. The photos do not do proper justice to these fabulous lamps! They are large. Measuring 16 1/2" to the top of the vase and 9" wide. The mounts are antique brass and the bases are footed chinese wood stands in dark brown. I have just replaced sockets in both lamps and they function beautifully. The shades shown are not included in this auction but if you want them, I will include them in a separate box for an additional $100.00 plus shipping. In my opinion, these lamps really should have large custom made tall drum shades. This pair was purchased from a wealthy estate in South Beach about 10 years ago and are VERY FINE. I do not know the exact age and I am not going to take them apart to see the markings on the bottom of the vases. Ebay limits the number of photos to 12. I would appreciate any information on a maker or an era which this furniture was made. The bedroom set is beautifully hand crafted with solid oak and veneers. The joints are all dove tail and it appears everything is individually hand crafted not machine made as far as carved accents and engraved pieces. This will need restoration to become the masterpiece it once was. I think there is only a couple tiny pieces missing that can easily be crafted which I think are at the very end of bed in the center design. the flaked veneers should be there also but may need new veneer work in my opinion. the dressers are on wood casters. The ultimate item for the NYPD collector. This is an original antique NYPD bed. These beds were used from the turn of the century to the early 1940's in a few precincts that had dormitories for police officers to sleep between shifts. It is extremely heavy cast iron. There is a headboard. Footboard, and spring. The three pieces fit together and it is very sturdy. I bought this many years ago at a tag sale because I have 2 sons that are both police officers, but the wives do not want it. Great conversation piece.
