This beautiful brass bed measures 60" from hole to hole where the side rail screws in to.which should accomodate a full or queen sized bed frame. Sorry. I don't have the side rails which should be fairly easy to come by. Headboard measures 52" tall and footboard 37" tall. Total weight for both pieces equals 51 pounds. Each piece weighs 25.5 lbs. This purchase is for pick up only about 43 miles northeast of Atlanta, GA. I will make arrangements for p/u as soon as payment is rec'd by pay pal only, please. THE RESTORATION PROJECT BEGINS In 2006. I started my search for a special and unique Antique or Vintage ¾ brass bed. Bigger than a twin and less than a standard size. In 10/2007 this bed was purchased with the brass spray painted gold and the iron main frame required a new powder coating. Inside the iron we found part of a newspaper page in Dutch. Photographs were sent to a professional brass bed restorer in Canton Connecticut and his bid is summarized. As follows: Restoration Fee: $13.650.00. Includes custom iron supports for mattress/box spring. Powder coating the iron, polish then lacquer or clear coat the brass, replace missing finials, and disassemble/ reassemble and a custom shipping crate. As a professional antique appraiser and restorer. His normal appraisal fee was $300 for a certified letter on his letterhead. Restored bed ... morevalue- $15.000 to $18,000. Wow. His cost to restore the bed and the value of the restored bed led me to develop a plan for local restoration. RESTORER PROVIDED A VALUABLE HISTORY OF THIS BED Circa 1900. A customer would order a bed from the cheapest strip down model to a bed with every embellishment available. This bed has the extras! 4 decorative ropes of roses 4 urns with ram head handles 6 wreaths with French bows 3 beaded circles on the foot stand IRON& FRENCH BRASS BED ¾ SIZE- RESTORED More about the restoration: Support rails for the mattress/box spring forged by a local iron worker. The iron bed stand portion professionally sandblasted and powder coated. Brass embellishments were professionally polished and lacquered by Noles Davis of Dallas Texas. Brass finials(20) had modern octagonal nuts that were replaced with the proper round ones drilled and tapped to 1/4– 20. A couple of small wall paint scuff marks that should wipe off easily. Some rust bleeding from fitting joints. Probably steel for strength. Does not detract from the visual.
