There is also a long crack on the carved gallery on top of headboard and two of the six small gallery supports on back of headboard are missing. Gallery is solid and not loose or in danger of breaking. My guess is this crack has been there for many, many years. There are many small marks and scratches on legs. I got these beds from an old farm house in Ohio. I was told the first one was a rope style bed so that is what I am calling it. The bed has some scratches and wear because it is very old. It looks to be in original condition. I have added lots of pics so you can see the condition.Both are a bed and a half or 3/4 sized which ever you prefer to call them(about four inches smaller than a full sized bed) The second bed I have just added to the listing also came from the same house. Two Antique Vintage Twin Beds Quilt Block Home Made Violet White Hand Sewn
These are extremely well-made. Nice, heavy quilts in violet and white. The tops of them are violet and whiteblocks. There are strings made of light yellow yarn tied at the corner of each block. The rear of the quilt is all off-white due to aging. Each quilt is 66 inches x 76 inches and are made to fit twin beds. These items are about 50 to 55 years old. I know that because I know the person who made them and saw them when they were first made. For their age. They are in good condition. There are some stains on these quilts. I donot consider any of the stains horrible because they are not big and dark. Most of them I had to search for in order to find. I took pictures of some of them so that you can see what they look like. I did notice what looked like two black pen marks on one of the quilts. Both of them were less than 1 inch in length. ... moreThe damages that I see on each of the quilts are: Quilt#1: The quilt is mostly faded from age. This does not take away from its beauty. There are some violet blocks that are not faded. Since these blocks are toward the edge of the quilt I am wondering if these were on a side of the bed that was against the wall. There is a tear in the backing of the quilt one edge. I have a picture of this attached. There are some stains on the quilt. I did not try to remove them because the quilt is in clean condition. They might come out by laundering the quilt. Pictures of most of these stains are attached to this ad. Quilt#2. The quilt is mostly faded from age. This does not take away from its beauty.
