This bed is in really nice shape. there are pretty minimal scratches compared to its age and it really looks nice. we wanted to keep it but its a bit bigger than the day bed we have. And we don't want bigger. it connects like the thin metal double hooks but instead of hooks it has square head like hooks that seem to be much older then the thin hooks for sure! in fact a friend was selling it at her tag sale for 50 or $100 and we decided not to buy it and she called us later and said we could have it for free because someone had bumped it with there car and broke one of the plate parts of one hook. I was real worried the metal was cast iron because it looks like it is, and cast iron cant be welded with easy methods. but it welded fine with my mig welder so most probably isn't cast iron. it could use a bit of attention to the skrews ... moreholding these hooks on, and matching hardware, as some are missing, and some or all could use tightening. but if kids aren't going to be jumping all over it, your probably good to go. it has metal holes in the bottom of the legs for casters. I don't have the casters. have fun!

How great is this bed! I fell in love with it years ago at a Flea Market in New York City. I've enjoyed it for quite some time. Unfortunately for me. I don't know whether it was a salesman's sample or made specifically for dolls. I do know it is quite old. I love the fact that it is made of wood and that the springs are woven with cord and attached with bits of leather. I can see that the leather has dried out through the years so I never attempted to adjust or repair this bed- trying to keep it as original as possible. I do note that one of the hinges to keep the headboard in the upright position has been replaced. It is really nice to see how easily this bed can lie flat. It consist of a double bed. 2 Night Stands, one 7 1/2 foot Cloth Cabinet with a beveled full size mirror in the front door. Ihad this furniture for about 8 years in storage with the exception of 2 years when it was in my guest room in my house. Antique 80 Year Old Red Maple Wood Twin Bed Frame
This is a terrific old antique red Maple wooden twin bed frame in very good condition. This was my bed growing up as a child and my mother's bed before that. The finials alone are an ornate pineapple design rarely seen anymore. The frame is stamped Red Maple on the back side of the headboard. There is some fading to the varnished finish on the back of the headboard. And a couple sides of one of the feet have fallen off and have been missing for years. There is no other damage to the wood and the frame is in excellent condition for its age. This item is LOCAL PICK UP ONLY! I repeat, this will NOT be shipped. If you cannot get a large enough vehicle to the metro New York City area of which I am an hour north, then please don't bid!

Interesting and beautiful wooden bed. Unsure of age. To my eye seems like turn of the century but I have no provenance so I do not want to misrepresent. Internal measurement of 44x72. That seems like the equivalent of a twin which is 39x75. Holds together with very long bolts which look hand-forged. May need additional fixing once assembled since the bolts seem loose. Easily tighten up the frame with the addition of 4 corner brackets. Could also make a wonderful headboard/footboard if affixed to a modern bed frame. Please ask for additional photos or measurements. This is a wonderful decorative VINTAGE DECO twin/day french bed. Side boards are missing but the ends can be used as two twin headboards. The wood inserts are decorated with cupids and other detailing surrounded by wood. Patina is wonderful. Could also be used as two wall hangings. Unusual. Great find! These came from an older European woman's estate in Montecito CA.
