We have resprayed it in satin sheen lacquer, but it could use a good sanding and a rub finish to bring out the luster finish. It is all soldi black walnut with Eastlake carvings throughout. It has burl panel accents trims on the mirror, doors, drawers, bed and headboard are awesome. It came out of a home on the east coast. The overall size of the bed on the outside is 57 inches wide, 37 inches high on the footboard and 78 inches high on the headboard.

You will not find a more beautifully designed or better made set of bedroom furniture on the market and certainly nothing contemporary that compares. MANY PICTURES TO VIEW BELOW! The condition of this set is excellent. There are a few nicks. Scratches and areas of worn lacquer as you would expect for the age and the lacquer has dulled some over time. However there is nothing major to note with the exception of one hairline crack that runs the length of one bed side rail. This flaw does not really require any action to be taken, but if you chose to, would be quite easy to remedy. The only thing I feel that needs to be pointed out is the lacquer. 1958-61 Statton Trutype Americana Hampton Maple Bedroom Set Dated & Numbered
For sale is my childhood maple bedroom set. The newest pieces are dated August 3. 1961. Heavy, solid, and all original maple set. Each have numbers and have a white manufacturing date. Each piece except the bed frame has"Statton TruType Americana" burned into the inside top drawer. Statton Furniture is still in business. The company started manufacturing quality bedroom sets in 1926. Full/double bed frame needs repair where rails seat into the head and foot boards. Planks between the bed frame that hold the mattress and box spring could use replacing but they do work and believe them to be original. Bed frame measures 81 inches long, outside width is 58 inches. Head posts are 40 inches tall. Foot posts are 33 inches tall. Box spring area is 9-1/2 inches off the floor. There is one single drawer nightstand that measures 30 inches ... moretall, 20 inches wide, and 16 inches deep. The dresser has 6 drawers and measures 34 inches tall, 48 inches wide across the top, and 19-1/2 inches deep across the top. This Beautiful French. Antique, 5 piece Bedroom set includes a full bed(Headboard, Foot board, side rails, center supports, and original connecting hardware) 2 side tables, Dresser/cabinet with mirror, and spacious Armoire. This set is sure to grace any room with its stunning. Solid Walnut craftsmanship, warm, earth tone marble tops, bevelled mirrors, and elegant style. All pieces are in wonderful shape. Without any major damage, dings, scratches, significant discolouration, or chipping finish. The finish appears to be the original, although there are areas which seem to have been rubbed out, or had finish repair done. There are some minor scratches, dings and the like which one would expect on any antique furniture. The bevelled mirrors have minimal spotting/blemishes. The Armoire mirror has a black spot toward the center. Some would call ... moreit patina? I understand this to be common with age. The drawers are all"old world" dove tail jointed. The appliques are made of some sort of metal(not sure what) There is not a key for the Armoire, or other locks. Note: these can be found through catalogues, or antique stores. I believe the above to be the only issues of note. My knowledge of this furniture's history. Stories and travels is limited. My Mother bought the set at a very large/Mansion estate sale around 15 years ago. She needed to downsize her own home 10 years ago and the furniture has been stored in our second garage since then. Her plans of introducing it into her new home were never realized and so. Here we are. Through personal research, I believed it to be French. In looking for any identifying marks, I pulled off the back of the dressers mirror and found a stamp with"GALVANOR MARQUE DEPOSEE PROCEDE BREVETE" Loosely translated, Galvanized Registered Trademark Patented Procedure" Thus, I think it safe to assume it is French. For auction is a very nice 3 piece walnut bedroom set that consist of a bed. Washstand and dresser. Each piece has beautiful designs throughout and each piece has what appears to be burl inlays. The age of these pieces may date back to the late 1800's or early half of the 1900's. The walnut bed measures 7' 7" tall at the head and 33 1/2" tall at the foot. The headboard measures 5' 3"wide and 5' 1 3/4" at the foot. The headboard has a few rounds pieces of the wood design that has come off, the owner may still have these. The headboard has some cracking in a thin area which appears to be burl inlay, a few small pieces are missing. The bed is overall in great condition for it's age. The marble top dresser measures 7' 11" tall. 4' 6" long and 22" wide. The dresser has a large ... morebeveled mirror in the center and two small beveled mirrors, the mirrors appear to be in great condition. The marble on the dresser does not have any cracks and appears to be in great condition. I would appreciate any information on a maker or an era which this furniture was made. The bedroom set is beautifully hand crafted with solid oak and veneers. The joints are all dove tail and it appears everything is individually hand crafted not machine made as far as carved accents and engraved pieces. This will need restoration to become the masterpiece it once was. I think there is only a couple tiny pieces missing that can easily be crafted which I think are at the very end of bed in the center design. the flaked veneers should be there also but may need new veneer work in my opinion. the dressers are on wood casters. This Antique bedroom set is in great condition for its age. The bedroom set only has a few minor flaws in inconspicuous areas of one or two pieces. I did not shine or polish any of the pieces prior to taking these pictures. I just pulled each piece out of the storage shed and photographed them. A simple wipe down with some wood finishing polish would bring the original shine back to life. Together these pieces form a beautiful antique setting sure to brighten any room in your home.
