1680`s ? baroque ornately carved 4 poster canopy bed Italian wedding Hapsburg
Bought this at a large antique show in Florida about 25 years ago.out of a Miami Beach estate. Was told it was from the 1680`s with the rails having been lengthened in the 1800`s. From their research it had a Hapsburg crest on the footboard and a nobleman`s crest on the headboard. Called an Italian wedding bed but would have been used in a summer place rather than the main castle/estate. Each post has a different agricultural product/leaf/vine.one is grapes. One oak leaves and not sure what the other 2 are. Has a custom mattress and very thin box spring/ sub support. It`s a tad too short to use a queen mattress. I had it set up strictly as a showpiece and used occasionally to meditate on when it had a fabric top gathered in the center. It includes custom velvet spread and 2 pillow shams.

You are looking at a vintage full size headboard and footboard with acorn/pineapple finials(really don't know which ones they are) It is in okay condition(please look at all of the pictures) It has been stored in an attic for several years. It is made of solid mahogany and was purchased back in the 1950's by my parents as their first full size bedroom set when they were first married. It is made of solid mahogany. It is missing one acorn/pineapple finial. The headboard measures 44 inches high. The footboard measures 38 inches high. Overall width of both pieces is 58 inches. The headboard and footboard are both very solid and heavy. The pieces do show age. But are in quite good condition for its age with no damage as far as using the bed as your own.
