This vintage twin bed measures 42" wide by 78" long. It consists of the headboard. Footboard, 2 side rails and 3 slats. It is a 2 toned wood(not sure of the wood type) with colorful tole type painted flowers. It shows light, age related wear but overall is in wonderful condition. It is marked in numerous places, Turpin's, Fresno Calif. It would look SO cute with a vintage chenille bedspread in a little girls room. A normal full size bed is 54 x 75. The inside dimensions of this bed are 72 inches wide, and 78 inches long. It’s too wide to be a queen, which measures 60 x 80. We can make this into a king size bed, which is 80 x 80, for an additional $400. What this entails is putting in a center panel and center brace. Now, about the beds: They are beautiful, with unusual solid oak wreath carving of unblemished oak and berry carved crests on top. They have raised panel fronts, doubles on the headboard, picture frame molded panels on the footboard with picture frame molding underneath, little rosettes carved out of solid oak all through the front and back, and Hepplewhite style block legs. The footboards have diamond point mosaic panel inserted, with carved columns coming down the sides, and with the wreaths and tassels and all those carvings, it’s just a beautiful pair that would make a really nice-looking king bed. The size the way the beds are set up right now is 75.5 inches wide, 39 inches high at the footboard, and 57 inches high on the headboard. There are 2 adaptor brackets that must have converted the bed set to metal rails but replacement wood rails are redily available. I don`t have much information on the specifics of when these were built but they belonged to my great grandparents at least as far back as the 1940`s, I am doing research to determine more accurate information. This is an awesome Victorian Rope Bed. It is 3/4 size- smaller than a double bed. Bigger than a single bed- Could be adapted to work with either. 50 inches wide, 6 feet at it's tallest point. It is meant to have a rope strung between the pegs on the rails instead of a box spring. Could easily be attached to a metal frame if desired. There is damage to the headboard. See pictures. I thought it would look cool if it were sanded and painted with flames. The foot board has two posts with a a single plane board between. Highly ornate vintage king size bed Includes headboard. Footboard, and two rails. We also have mdf boards that act as a platform for the mattress that can be included if you would like them. This is an estate piece and as such could use some cleaning up Ivory pearl finish with bronze. Pink, purple, and green details This is a very large. Heavy piece Headboard stands approx 65" tall and measures approx 87" wide. I am not sure but believe it is made of some type of wood and then covered in a plaster gesso material This has some aged wear as can be expected with this type of furniture. There are some areas of damage most noticeably on the top of the footboard. This could be disguised by buying some ivory pearl paint and painting over the area. It won't look perfect but would camouflage the damaged area. I was going to do this myself ... morebut just simply do not have the time. You are looking at a vintage full size headboard and footboard with acorn/pineapple finials(really don't know which ones they are) It is in okay condition(please look at all of the pictures) It has been stored in an attic for several years. It is made of solid mahogany and was purchased back in the 1950's by my parents as their first full size bedroom set when they were first married. It is made of solid mahogany. It is missing one acorn/pineapple finial. The headboard measures 44 inches high. The footboard measures 38 inches high. Overall width of both pieces is 58 inches. The headboard and footboard are both very solid and heavy. The pieces do show age. But are in quite good condition for its age with no damage as far as using the bed as your own. ANTIQUE ROPE BED MODIFIED FOR DOUBLE SIZE MATTRESS
This is a bed I purchased for my son many years ago. It is well worn but extremely sturdy and stable. The knobs/pegs for the ropes were not on the bed when we purchased it so we modified it to accept a standard double mattress. A piece of sturdy plywood sits on the wooden supports that have been attached to the bed frame. The plywood is not included in this sale. The mattress rests on the full width of the bed to accept a standard double. Using the side rails as additional support. It could be used"as is" or refinished. The bed size is 72 in long by 54 in wide. The headboard is 34.5 in tall and the footboard is 25 in tall. I'm not sure of the type of wood used in the bed. I believe it may be made of several different types. This is for local pick up only. The location is between Richmond. VA and Charlottesville, VA.
