Vintage DRINKING FOUNTAIN Halsey Taylor,Antique Water Fountain, Wall Mount
This is an exceptional vintage Halsey Taylor china water fountain/ drinking fountain. Wall mount style. I obtained this in times past to eventually use at my shop- but I need to sell it. The plumbing parts are solid brass. I had this buffed out bright and it looks fantastic. The china bowl and mount has no chips or cracks, and no stains in the bowl itself. Some staining where it bolts to the wall and where the plumbing contacts the china. Brass is marked"Taylor" and has patent number. It is untested with water. It will need usual rubber gaskets and pipe joint compound on threads prior to plumbing it in. Knob feels good when turning, it springs back and forth. Will need a rubber washer where the knob/ valve unit screws in. I am including 2 different rubber faucet washers for the valve with it along with the original one- not sure ... morewhich one it needs(see photo) I am confident it will perform fine and is a beautiful, classic vintage specimen. Selling"AS-IS" Measures 11 3/4" out from the wall and bowl measures 9 1/2" at widest part. Weighs 8 pounds without packing. Will be carefully packed and shipped USPS insured in the lower 48. It seems to be in good working condition. But untested. The bowl is 6-5/8” across the top. The feed pipe and valve assembly is 12” long. The drain pipe is 12” long, and it’s 10” from the top of the bowl to the bottom of the drain pipe. This is a nice vintage unit that will look great installed. Vintage Halsey Taylor 3 station(has space for 4th) cast iron porcelain school drinking fountain. Halsey Taylor is one of the leading manufacturers of drinking fountains today. Company founder Halsey W. Taylor invented the non-squirting drinking fountain. In 1896. Taylor's father died from typhoid fever. This illness is principally spread through contaminated drinking water. Several years later, while working as a plant superintendent for the Packard Motor Car Company, Taylor realized numerous workers were becoming sick with dysentery. He believed contaminated drinking water was the chief reason for the spreading illness. Taylor determined to develop a drinking fountain that was sanitary and would not contribute to the spreading of various illnesses. By 1912. Very Nice Haws Made In U.S.A. Large Basin Water Fountain. Or Drinking Fountain. Basin is Porcelain with a Momentary faucet under the basin. This is a larger fountain at 13.5" long 9" high and 7.5" across. Porcelain is in excellent condition, no chips cracks or crazing. Water spigot is present and has some age patina,and needs to be tightened. Momentary faucet works properly, but may need new seals? As it has not been tested, and has been setting for some time. Features very heavy brass construction, threads into 3/8" NPT fitting. Condition is very good with no pitting or plating loss, no wrench marks on hex. Measures 4 1/2" high and 2 1/4" wide. So I ask that you carefully look over the photos…believe that this is a pedestal ... moremount· This the fountain bowl only…there is no spigot/faucet for this· Measures about 14” at its largest length point and 9” at its largest width point· Believe that this may be from the 1960s as there is a 63 marked on the underside and assume that this is the year· The hole openings on the bottom measure 15/16” for where the water faucet would go and 1 5/8” where the drain would go· Weighs nearly 11 pounds WITHOUT the box and package material and thus. The cost for the postage. CONDITION· No noted cracks or repairs. However, there are a couple of ever so tiny nicks on the one end…there is inside of the covered section, probably from when some water may have been setting for awhile…there are some marks and scratching from prior usage. It has a great aged patina that only time can create and screams quality. Made the way items used to be made. It seems to be in great condition for it's age. Some minor spotting on the porcelain bubbler. No cracks but a little normal minor crazing in the glaze(please see all pics before bidding) All copper knob and pipe assembly. Knob turns easily and springs back as it should. Unit is untested and may need some rubber seals inside before use. I have not taken it apart to be sure. Threads on stem appear to be ok and not dinged or stripped. It measures 8.25" x 4" x 7" at the extremes. It has a push button flow valve and a keyed shutoff valve so it appears. Manufactured in Trenton N.J. by The Trenton Brass and Machine Company. Trenton New Jersey. Patd Oct 5 1915. Will need a good cleaning although I am not sure of its operational condition. Appears to be intact. Intersting repurpose hardware or a custom fabricated fixture for your home shop or office. ILLINOIS USA This beautiful piece was recently reclaimed from a 100 year old West side Chicago warehouse that was demolished in fall of 2013. That was once located near Western and Chicago Avenues. The building sat vacant for over 10 years and this was removed from their kitchen/ locker room. I correctly believe this fountain/ sink was originally distributed by Puro Filter Corp. Hence the label on the top, and came with an inline filter. When found, it was directly attached to water lines with no filter. It is in great original. As-found condition. There are no major issues, no chips, no cracks. Does show light wear, such as over paint on the sides from someone ... morepainting the wall, and tarnish and calcium build up on the drain and faucet. Faucet is a push button style. It has NOT been tested. There is tarnish in the faucet, so if you choose to use it, you will have to correctly sanitize it or replace with your own faucet. Comes with the as-pictured and attached original fittings. Overall it measures 11" wide x 11-1/2" deep x 5" tall. There are 3 mounting holes on the back to mount to a wall. Only mark I can find besides the Puro label is a stamp in the back that reads 146. A fantastic. Original period piece! All chrome has some patina and buyer may choose to polish. Equipped with an early valve marked"Trenjer" Pat'd Oct. 5-15. The flange has three holes for mounting. The drain appears to have been cut with a saw, slightly unlevel. This was given to me and is untested. It may hook up and work immediately or it may need work, I do not know. Vintage - PORCELAIN Outdoor BUBBLER - Water Drinking Fountain - Central Fixture
Up until a week ago. This Bubbler has sat safely in our yard as a yard ornament for the past 18 years. When we decided to sell it and move it. It got damaged on the rim of the fountain.and YES- my heart cried: I have the pieces from the chipped area- should you need or want them. The fountain is stained in areas and the chrome finish in peeling on the water portion. There is also a n area on the bottom where the porcelain is missing. That was like it when we purchased it. The fountain(or BUBBLER as we called them in Milwaukee) is from the Milwaukee area, and it is marked CENTRAL on the handle. Overall- it stands 34-1/2" tall.30" tall to the rim of the bowl. It is 12" wide at the top bowl portion. And 16" wide at the base. We used to have it hooked up to a garden hose and used it as a working fountain. When we hooked it ... moreup after moving it. Water did not flow thru to the head. I am sure that since it sat unused for more than half of the 18 years, the pipes have probably become clogged with dirt or spider webs and they need to be flushed clean. Seeing as how it is so heavy and difficult to handle. And how we already damaged it just moving it, I will leave the cleaning up to the new owner. From base to top of water drain basin is 30" The fountain has no on/off button.It was an always on unit. but a new bubbler with a button could be easily fitted to replace the old standard one. Up for sale here is a vintage Crane Thurstend Porcelain Drinking fountain for a church or school. This sink overall is in great condition. It is used and does have some minor wear hear and there. Some spots where the white has worn but overall in great shape as you can see from the pictures. It has no cracks in either the cast iron mount or the porcelain sink itself. This is a wall mount design and I believe it to be from the mid century. If you are into this old stuff then dont let this baby escape you. This is a buy it now listing. So no waiting for an auction to end. The rough dimensions on the drinking fountain are as follows. Outside dimensions are 7.25" W x 10" L x 4.25" D to where the actual down drain pipe inserts. This sink is very small which is cool especially for tight spaces. Fountain does not come with the drain ... moreline so that will have to be figured out. The threads in the cast iron arm look very good. This sink requires a 1/2" galvanized to hook up into it. I have not tested it out but was told it was pulled from a school and works fine.
