Vtg. Antique child's chair. Wicker cane children's Victorian furniture, decor! This antique chair is a charmer! From the days of gentility and decorum! This little chair was a copy of an adult's cane chair. And was a cherished one! It is made from bent wood, cane and wicker or reed. It may very well have been handcrafted, as I have never seen another like it. It measures 20" high. 19" wide, and 11-3/4" deep. At one time the seat wore through and was covered with a piece of corduroy, which has proven to be pretty sturdy stuff! It has some of the most unique construction I have seen, and looks like it may have been constructed of bits and pieces of what was handy or available at the time. Three of the legs have a metal tip, another thing that makes this chair different! Most of the chairs frame was wrapped in the ... morewicker, and over the years much of it has come off. It could be restored, but it looks so interesting this way. I have a wicker"ball" I am including too, if you want to rewrap some parts. Feel free to supersize the photos to see all of the details. 5 Piece Antique Wicker Set 1920's by Karpen Furniture Couch, 2 Chairs 2 Tables
Absolutely beautiful 5 piece antique Karpen wicker set. One of the finest sets I have ever seen and in original condition. No cushion for the couch but the couch does have original leather covering of the springs as do the two side chairs. This set is original and all matching. Almost perfect with just a couple of problems. One of the chairs. Notice in picture which pictures all five pieces, the front chair has the lower left leg gone. About 3 inches. There are only a couple pieces of wicker missing on the very bottom of a couple of the legs and almost unnoticeable. Almost all wicker is perfect. This set was kept together all of these years, I think about 85 years and was kept out of the elements. Look closely at the pictures. The couch is about 77" long, 22" high at the arms and 32" high at the back. Chairs are the same height ... moreand are from the original set. The round table is beautiful with round oak inserts. The coffee or side table might not be from the original set as I do not know what kind of wood it is but is matches otherwise. Very solid well built Karpen set. Karpen is noted for their quality. The Karpen Wicker furniture company made wicker furniture as early as 1917 right after WWI. I believe this set with the leather covering of the springs is mid 1920's. It is solid and usable now but does need cushions for the couch. Chairs cushions are probably not original. Look at the pictures. This wicker set can possibly be delivered if within 100 miles either side of U.S. 31 from Muskegon, Michigan to Nashville, Tenn. Don't let this one get away. You won't find many in this great shape. The sofa measures 9.75" wide 8" high and 6.5" deep. Each chair measures 6.5" wide 7.75" high 5.5" deep. Please look at the last photo above. It was reupholstered years ago. The inside of the cushions may be original- they are very heavy! The fabric on the cushions is in great condition. upholstery weight dark green cotton with white dots.You may want to tack down the sides near the legs in a couple of places. Nothing more. But it is antique/vintage, so not perfect. Though the maker is unknown to me. Very unusual and totally charming four piece set of wicker doll furniture in wonderful condition. In mustard and green original paint. In perfect condition with no breaks or damage, this table,couch and two matching chairs is beautifully handcrafted in the exact style of full size wicker furniture by the likes of Heywood Wakefield. From the style, form, and surface, my guess is that this set was made in the 20's or 30's. I can find no maker's mark. I'm told that it is the perfect scale for American Girl Dolls. 1941 handmade antique vintage doll furniture, wrapped wicker,oil cloth seats
This is a very old handmade antique set of doll furniture. A chair and sofa. It is wicker that has been bent, then some of it has been wrapped with thin strips, like caning strips. The seats are made of an old leather-like material with a flower pattern. I don't know the material, but it is woven underneath with a stiffer material over it. It is cracked like old leather. I think its oil cloth. The sofa is 7 inches long, 4 inches deep and 7 inches high. The chair is 3 inches wide, 3 inches deep and 6 inches high. One of the arms of the sofa has come apart from the seat and needs to be fixed. I don't want to mess it up with crazy glue. There is a fifth leg at the center back of the bottom that has been wrapped at the top, for stabilization? and its crooked. Doesn't sit straight. Gorgeous real heavy wicker set-I believe that the sofa is the oldest piece with minimal damage to arm as shown. It has the tarps on the frame and is well made. All of the cushions were custom made and all pieces are firm. Sofa 64-1/2" from arm o arm height 31-1/4" tall the seat is 22" deep. The love seat 44-1/2" arm to arm. Seat depth 17-1/2" Two matching side table stand 22" tall and are 17" x 17" square on the top. One coffee table stands 17" tall top measures 32" x 18" One round table very old as top shows much wear stands 29" tall and across the top 24-3/4" The piece that has the most wear is the rocker but a piece of wood is placed under the cushion and it is very comfortable. Antique Childs White Wicker & Wood Photographers Chair Scroll Design Furniture
For your consideration is a wonderful Photographers Childs Wicker Chair. In Great condition with minor wicker loosened near the leg base. Heart design along the back with a center post the photographer would grab onto and move his chair to the next position. Still very Sturdy and clean. I see no missing design to this. Reinforced underneath. Stands 21 1/4" tall at the back rest. 11" up to the seat. Legs are 11 1/2" front to back and 12" front leg to front leg. Would be great displayed with your favorite doll on. Up for auction is a wonderful rare A ntique Dolls or Salesman’s Sample Wicker Furniture Set. This set is from the late 1800’s it has been in the family that long. Included in the set is a loveseat. 2 chairs and a table. The chairs measures 9 inches tall by 8 inches wide, the love seat measures 9 inches tall by 11 inches wide. And the table measures 6 inches tall by 6 inches wide. The set is tan wicker with forest green wicker for highlights. The set shows age and has a few broken pieces of wicker but is in very good condition and the all over look is great. Please refer to all the pictures for condition and details as shown.
