For Sale is a possibly 1850's sofa(an Antique dealer mentioned the possible year after investigating its past) I had it professionally reupolstered in a beautiful neutral fabric with a scroll design. Up for auction is a beautiful Giltwood Salon Suite with two Fauteuils and a large Canape. Each fauteuil is raised on neoclassical style fluted legs. With carved acanthus leaf arms, and a linen-wrap decoration around the crest of the back. On the canape, the fluted carving continues up the arms to a braided crestrail. The carving is very deep and nicely executed over the gilt gesso wood frame. Each piece is upholstered in later fabric, likely done a decade or two ago, with cream and gold colored thread- very elegant and suitable for a high-class setting. Size: Each fauteuil measures 38.5 inches tall by 24 inches wide. The canape measures 39 inches tall by 70 inches wide. Condition: Patinated surfaces throughout with small chips to edges and loss to gilding. Gorgeous Tapestry Settee/Loveseat! This is a great piece that was tentatively appraised for $1200 in a back of the envelope opinion by an antique appraiser. There is no formal appraisal. There is some damage to the wood frame(pics 2.3, 5- 7) Some pics show normal wear and tear with the finish rubbed, look at pic 6 that shows a crack in the top frame. Also as shown in pic 8, there is some staining to the back of the piece. Measurements: Approx: 57" wide. Really nice parlor set. Consists of 4 armed chairs. Sofa(between a sofa and settee size) The marble tops are a mossy/verde green with gold streaking. The material is a very light pink champagne color and I stress light. Nice floral/leaf carvings. Has a great patina aged look to the finish. Individual hand tacks not the strip tacks applied. Overall condition I feel is better than good. Would make a nice parlor collection for an elegant setting.
