Description Jbjohn This tank is all original…right down to the pull-chain. The exterior is solid oak with rounded edges; the interior heavy-gauge copper sheeting. The pull chain. Mounting bar, lever, pipe and copper ball are all included. As would be expected…the metal that spend time in the water is rusted and corroded. The copper lining is firmly attached with no splits. There is scale on the copper; I cleaned a small portion with a mild vinegar solution and a net-scrubber…so it can be done…I’ll save the rest for you; There is a split in the wood on the bottom. For sale is an AWESOME Antique Oak High Water Closet Tank with Copper Bobber& Handle on Chain! It appears to be made of solid oak and is painted an off white color. It appears to have been a corner unit as only two sides are painted. The interior is tin and all looks sound. This comes with a copper"bobber" or"float" and comes with a wooden handle with metal(brass? swivel and chain. The chain is in great condition with no kinks or problems. The basin itself measures 18 3/4" wide X 11" tall X 10" deep. With the top rim it measures 20 3/16" across. The drain pipe measures 1 7/8" to the threads and has a 1 1/2" opening. The smaller pipe measures 15/16" to the threads and had a 1/2" opening. Both fittings appear to be brass. The chain with the wooden handle measure 56" There ... moredoesn't appear to be any wood rot and only some minor paint loss on the bottom. This could easily be stripped and refinished to look like new and could probably be used again. This is from a VERY high end estate that is just FULL of high end top quality pieces including tin litho's. Porcelain signs, crocks and jugs, antiques of all kinds, and even taxidermy.
