This is an old brass. Antique towel bar/ rack. Wear consistent with age. No cracks or serious damage. Some small"crimps" on the edge of the backplates which could easily be pulled out. Up for sale: Vintage 24 inch ceramic towel bar/rack in original unopened package. The color is a beige. These were made by Lenape many years ago. The part that attaches against the wall is 2 inches square. This was sitting in a warehouse for several decades. Packaging may be a little tattered but contents are perfect. VINTAGE LATE VICTORIAN 3 ARM SOLID BRASS TOWEL RACK/HOLDER BRASSCRAFTERS? 9 pics
VINTAGE LATE VICTORIAN 3 ARM SOLID BRASS TOWEL RACK/HOLDER BRASSCRAFTERS? 9 pics Subject: An antique. Late Victorian, three arm, solid brass with old nickel plate towel rack/ holder. This is a very heavy, early piece which measures about 11 1/2 inches at it's longest point by 4 9/16 inches at it's highest point. The overall weight of this piece is about 2 pounds and 5 ounces. The nickel plating on this piece does appear to have some oxidation issues going on. As an after thought experiment, after I took the photos, I sprayed a small amount of orange glow on a rag, and along with some elbow grease did some cleaning on the top arm. The results were that this item retains more than 95 percent of it's nickel plating, and that most of that has a very lite surface oxidation, that would more than likely clean up very well if one used ... morea proper polish instead of orange glow. The piece does have some paint residue on the bracket, most of that being on the back of the bracket, as well as some small paint splatters but here again the proper polish would more than likely remove most of the paint. This piece is unmarked from what I can tell but it does appear to have the type of high quality one would find in one of The Brasscrafters pieces. Here is a very cool piece for a kitchen. Bar, Bathroom etc. This towel drying rack is from an old Soda Shop. I have also seen these in Barber Shops. I don't know how old this piece is. It is metal with a chrome plated finish. It has 6 swing arms(10" long) with ball nuts on each end(one nut missing) The twisted pole extends out from the wall 1" and has a top and bottom wall bracket. The tip on the top finial is missing(tip only) and dose not effect the functionality of the towel rack. And you cant tell its missing if you didn't know it was ever there. I'm listing this very cool J.L. Mott. Nickel plated brass towel rack that weighs 2.4 lbs on its own. There is some pitting mostly on the base and where the arms attach to the base(please see photos) The bars are all very sturdy and stiff so they easily hold their position where placed. The towel bar assembly is 11" overall, and each of the 3 arms are grooved along the top to help prevent towels from slipping. 1925 CAST IRON PORCELAIN TOWEL BAR RACK/ SHELF I have several old antique items to sell at my folks old house that I thought would best be liquidated here on Ebay. We have 2 sets of these to list as pictured but this listing is only for the one pictured separately in all the photos. The second will be for sale. And listed or offered, after this set sells incase the buyer desires to have two sets. No repairs or touch ups to the finish. I don't see any places of damage except for a couple rust colored stains as shown. There are a couple very minor chips is shown in the porcelain only where the stains are. No negative surprises or large chips and or scratches in the porcelain. The tips of the bars go into the end caps almost an inch on each side so they are not exposed where the porcelain is thin at the tapered cast iron ends. These racks ... moreare so very rare to find. I believe given a short time with the viewing Ebay audience someone"in the know" will see them and have a fabulous piece that becomes an eye catching focal point of nostalgia when hung on the wall.
